A few questions: why are there no dedicated "call" and "end" buttons? In all honesty can one type at speed with this rocker type of QWERTY keyboard? I suppose only M600i users will be able to answer that! I need a business phone in the next few months and I am not sure what to go for. I need an intuitive phone with a QWERTY keyboard that allows for thumb typing at speed. I am not sure whether that is possible with this phone. Other contenders are Nokia's E61i and E90; Toshiba's G900 and I-mate's Ultimate 7150 with its superb VGA screen.
bad user interface...not so so attractive than most of the nokia's and samsung's...everything is the same with the old interfaces of SE....
this P1 have every thing compare to nokia E61i wich camera only 2 mp, and no FM and no touch screen, also the weight P1 better
only the shape of P1 is looks like 100% calculater, if there is nokia same this spec i will take it
if this only cost 500 USD or 25000 pesos this is a great phone.if not, really sucks.
go for w960 instead
once it's been released, i'll see how good will be it's performance(as i am no doubt expecting the best from this phone) being an office-oriented smartphone:) you may hate everything about it's looks but once you've seen it in personal i'm sure you'll fancy the metal case which makes up it's prestige.
the phone is like a crossbreed between nokia 3230 and a calculator.... i hope there is a p1000 or any upgrade of p990.. geesh, p1 is simply ugly, or lets just say as a P series, it's totally a big disappointment. 5 thumbs down..booooo
How Much for the price of P1?
When P1i get into Indonesia?
what for Ram and ROM in P1?
How much pixel effective for the camera?
now se own symbian and the memory has doubled should be the phone the p990 should have been. is has a new battery which will much improve battery life of the p990 and an aluminium finish that will make it feel very upmarket. i personally cant wait all my collegues have blackberrys but i have blackberry sofware on my p990 cant wait to have blackberry on the p1
I was formerly a nokia fan but i think they are losing their edge by not racing ahead but not consolidating their steps. Look at SE which started with walkman for music, then cybershot for pics, and p & m -series for serious and casual business users.
SE is now bringing each aspect together in various proportions to suit different people.
All i think they need to change soon is
WLAN 802.11b to 802.11b/g or higher
252k colours to 16 million colours (c'mon this can't be so hard)
'why have p1 when you can have the w960' Qwerty keyboard!Having recently purchased an N95 I can assure you I miss the 'solid' qwerty.
It has Wifi b/g? or only b?
i definitely agree with Libyan Afreet comments about sonyericsson..what he said is very true...and i would like to believe that they are making a small step in the right direction in the form of w960... from rick using n91 8gb
bad design
still low scores, this phone is functionally similar to W960 and W960 gets a very respectable score but why this beauty isn't gaining high score? seems like some haters are spamming the voting points to straight 1 :(
What on earth are you going on about?!RIM(blackberry)offers nothing more that ANY smartphone so quite how you come to the conclusion of needing two phones is beyond me.PUSH E-Mail can even be used with jave phones.
You cannot compare P1 and N95. With BlackBerry, businesscard scanner P1 is designed for businessmen while N95 is for the private user. I own a M600i. Instead of carrying an ordinary phone plus a Blackberry, I have almost everything i need in the M600. Only thing missing is the camera, so P1 is my next phone.
UIQ3 is not the most elegant and intuitive user interface, but still there is not many alternatives for the business user if you like a compact phone.
hey is this se calculator?????
It's look like calcurator and I think it,s m series not p series just only have 3.2camera P990 is better
Go get a Sony Ericsson W960.. http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_w960-2008.php
