I think this is the best looking and feature rich phone Ericsson has ever released! From the GIANT colour TFT screen, to 3G and Wi-Fi support, 3.2MP camera all the way to the old school Inrared (which 65% of newly released phones don't support anymore), to the beautiful design and very nicely arranged black on silver colour. It's like all of thier earlier PDA models and the 'W' series all rolled into one, with almost the sleekness of the new 'W880i'. Well done Ericsson, I will be a proud owner of this latest released as soon as I can get my hands on it.
i was witting for this phone, and now i feel that sonyericsson really impressed me with this lovely device, it sounds great, can't wait to have it.
this phone is awful. just look at it. only ppl who are trying to make an executive statement will get this phone but they will fail its ugly
Hey Does Any one knows whether this Phn supports Exchange Sync. Cuz Which was lacking in the P990! which i had to suffer a lot to transfer my data from my Exchange Server. if it is there this would be the top of the world phn
to xO: this is like a forum for like post your opinion. so... democracy? jejeje
yes this phone rocks, i will buy one, i have a n91 but i'm tired of all trash nokia fones, bad cuality(n91 is the exception), too slows all nokias. but sony's phones rock!!!!!!!!!!!! take care
this mobile is better than all mobile of nokia.because of its batry and camera performence.but i dont no the price.and iwant to now the price.
why people alway compare somthing with other things -___- Evryone will buy thing that he thinks that it is better than other -.-
as far as i have observed, P990's sofware is now reliable and stable, no more crashes, lags and other major form of bugs, but one bug remains unfixed; the alarm volume other than that, P990 is now groundbreaking being a smartphone.
This P1i is not a replacement for the P990i.
It looks to me as an improved version of the M600i.
I think Sony Ericsson will announce a replacement for P990i sometime around September.
I had been a SE fan from their P800 onwards uptill p910. I remember waiting for so long for P990 and I almost got used to seeing the coming soon statement in this site. When it finally arrived after a delay of about 9 months, the phone was nothing close to what most of us expected. I switched 3 P990's and all of them had the same problems. The SE company wasnt very supportive either. Occasionally when I read the user comments about that brick, I still see people are facing problems. Now here comes the P1. Besides The memory size and the 3MP camera, I dont see anyother feature better than the P990. All I can advice people here is dont go for the first releases, because they will definately have problems and you better not count on SE support.
This is GPS compatible phone. YOu only have to install 3rd part soft which are better then Nokia.
I have a question if anyone can answer it. Since this phone has UMTS, won't it be able to substitute the 850Mhz frequency in the U.S.? If it can, then you don't need 850mhz. That is when the U.S. will eventually have 3g.
Even better if the screen is 2.8". Having a dual LED flash, I'm sure photo quality is far better than N95 5mpixel camera. I don't know the video recording of P1 if 30fps already like the N95. But still P1 being a touchscreen makes its operation faster. As I am using both P990i and N95, touchscreen phone is truly convenient and easier.
Wish they had a real qwerty keypad...
Why do people want a carl zeiss lens on a camera phone? It's just a branding thing... they don't even make the lens -- and if they did, it wouldn't make a difference; the resolving power of the lens would be vastly higher than the resolution of the sensor.
Hi all. The P1 is surely a thing of beauty! Can I have ur opinions on the wifi standard it uses? How does the 802.11b it uses compare to others? I use a nokia e70 which uses 802.11i/e/g. How do you think internet browsing would compare to this. Thanks
