antivirus i would suggest : Mcafee antivirus, and firewall
for word, excel, ppoint use "DOCUMENTS TO GO" its way better, than the original software, ill send u the code for it. and the pdf i havent noticed a change really, and i dont use it that often, but its not that slow, its ok. i hope that helped, hit me up if u have any more questions.
if a word file is downloaded from microsoft office 2007 will it open on p990 pls let me know thanks.
If your P990 is responding TOO SLOW, it can be because of a couple of reasons, One probable reason, the Old firmware should be updated. (available firmware updates on sonyericsson website) 2nd, Your RAM or CARD memory is almost full, 3rd your call logs are not regularly deleted, or sadly, your P990 unit is defective.
To check RAM or card memory with flip open, go to main menu, select TOOLS, under tools, select file manager, once in, click the file manager tab located on the upper left of the phone...Then select SPACE AVAILABLE. It will give you the summary of both RAM and card memory. Hope this helps.

Ravi: Check if the software was made for the Symbian UIQ OS. Otherwise, it may not run on your P990i
Sylar: Firmware Updated may be downloaded directly at www.sonyericsson.com/support just click on the SE Update Service. Please take caution in updating your firmware. Follow instructions carefully and be patient.
Rabee: You might want to look into Symbian UIQ softwares that enable you to use yahoo, msn, ICQ messengers on your phone. try searching at www.cnet.com/downloads
lynmae: The price of the P990i is still dropping. Kaya baka temporary fluctuation of price lang yan. Just source it from a different dealer. Im sure there are still some around Davao that is offering it at a lower price.
Thanks jeremy and mikem for the "firmware update" update. *grin*
For those who are experiencing problems with the latest PC Suite released for the Vista OS, I happily running mine. I did however enountered a problem when I installed it on my notebook that has a 2Ghz AMD Turion 64. But when I installed it in my other notebook that has an Intel Core 2 Duo 1.66Ghz, i encountered no problem. Im not sure and I doubt it if the processor has to do anything with the failure of the installation, but it could be possible. I guess the best thing to do is uninstall it, then do a clean boot, install the PC Suite and keep your fingers crossed. I hope you get it up and running.
And as a general rule with firmwares. Them great and friendly guys at SonyEricsson happily advises everyone to not update your firmware, if you are not experiencing any problems with your phone. So do think about it before you have your phone flashed.
Thanks to all the guys who've emailed me for whatever. Enjoy your P990i. Ive got mine wrapped in a suede leather drawstring pouch lined with a scratch/lint free cloth. *grin* I love my baby.
Can anyone please tell me that being a Symbian OS phone, can it run the *.sis files like a nokia Symbian OS phone?
please tell me because its the only thing i am confused about!!!!!!!!!!
please post in this forum the website where we can download the latest firmware, please!!tnx!!
Darn these Sony ericcsson guys. Bought the phone for 30000 indian Rupees. Within 1 month the price was down to 19000.
Then i also got to know about the Motorola A1200 which retails at about 12000. I think thats a much better buy considering that it offers almost all of the features on the P990i. The P990i is a good phone but if you live life in the fast lane then this is not the phone for you.
The phone restarts automatically. Though this is not an issue since the phone restarts to improve performance, it can be an irritant when it restarts when you are just about to recieve a call. it happened to me twice.
My advice is go for the Motorola A1200. Cheap and Reliable.
