The phone is absolutely rocking no doubt. Everything is this world has some kind of pros and corns. Pros are superb picture and sound clarity, easy to use. Corns are when using multi application the phone hangs. But over all the cell is worth it !!
hi there i have this fone already but i have a big problem, this fone has a sick... its always hanging when you don't use it continously and when you activate the phone lock... the feature is very nice and also the design but thats my only problem... which is hanging...can you pls help me how to fix this problem? thanks
Okay, it may sound stupid, but I saw this service provider's ad where the P990i had a wireless projector feature in it. However its not mentioned anywhere in the specs on the website. Does anyone know anything about it?
This is the only phone i could find with all those features,Wlan, camera w flash,3G,touch scrn, HW recogniton, good big display.I am planing to buy this though the price is high!
im just wondering whether it is possible for SE to reach the desired battery life and remain completely functional after the upcoming software update. as i am in serious doubt if it can be achieved
thanks for the super link, exactly what I was looking for! nice1. I wouldnt have a clue whats up with ur p990 really, i'd recommend you get that checked out. I'm not sure about the wifi settings either to be honest, i havent had the chance to play around with it yet.
sorry i couldnt help, and thx again for the link!
what button do i need to press to find out when my phone was manufactured? tq
thanks for your answer on the opera 8 web browser, but how come when i press it, it wont open? but anyways, lets get to your question. go to http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=136929.
this guy made a program called m3 i think, and i'm using it, it works really nice, go give it a try. also, do you know how to fix my wifi problem? thanks
Opera is already installed, u wont find the icon anywhere. when you press the internet key on the phone (the one with the @ sign) that opens opera. to check, once you've opened it, click on 'WEB','SETTING', and then 'ABOUT'. that will show you that its installed.
I've got a question as well,
I've tried encoding video files to .mp4 to play on the phone and they wont play, it just crashes the phone. does anyone know what setting I should have when I encode? I've already tried using exactly the same as what the Demo file uses, and that doesnt work.

Merry Christmas ppl. bye
P990i owners: Truth is better than hope. I have been in consumer electronics since the 1970s, and you need to know this, and it applies to any manufacturer: a) SE are busy focused on their current succesful products (K800i etc) and forthcoming mass market products b) They will not even have their eye on the P990i (where's the advertising or full size posters in the carrier shops or their brochures?) c) All this talk of firmware upgrades is talk. I see no mention of anything on their website or in the news! d) The device is underpowered and the whole architecure of the P990i and it's inconsistent GUI is flawed, so the ONLY way SE could improve it would be a complete re-write and re-design of the Symbian OS that powers it along with a hardware upgrade. And that just isn't going to happen! The successor (P1000?) will be slimmer, MUCH faster and a far better target for SE's resources. To conclude: Hang on to your P990i or eBay it and get something else with the cash and save up for either the P1000 or the forthcoming Apple(i)phone. (Nokia's stuff is too inconsistent so I do not advise investing in them.) P.S. I own a P990i, and for all it's flaws, currently, there is no alternative!
i'm using P990 for abouy 2 weeks, I updated its firmware to R7 and since I did that it restarts if it is charged with too much applications at the same time, but I have managed to have the RAM memory in good form by having always opened Swiss Manager Pro down on the screen, so I clean up the applications that are not in use and my phone doesn't restarts nor it freezes, and I'm writting this comment by using the P990! It is great if you want it buy it and buy Swiss Manager Pro, or download for free Swiss Manager.
p990 has not lost its value cus se tends to do this remember p910 days so many bugs, hanging but about an year it was one of the best phones i bought 910 in 2 months it was launched and anybody who has knows so guys relax those who want to buy it go for it the bus r going to be fixed thats for sure so just relax and go for it.
I think the Operating System (OS) is not a user-friendly ...
Arabic Support is complicated for all functions & services (SMS, Notes,...etc.)
more comfort as a phone than a PDA
P990i has lost its value, only because its ram does not support few application opened plus hans even with r9 firmware .unless new sets made n 2007 manufactured it might be stable,P910i gained rewpute after one year of its release.SE r Duds cant correct from past experience. At prsent these r same old production sets world over.
really this a gr8 pda no doubt.working good allmost 1 month past ,ya a little restarts if using multi functions simultaneously, after all battery life is 3 day in wokong all things, also camera quality and headset music player rock..wifi is rather faster than N93..
I bought the mobile a week ago. I love it. The only problem is that the battery llife is short (maximum 2 days or 1 hour talk time). The dealer said that it needs an update. Is that true? Pls. answer me.
Thanks in advance.
