Ok what I mean is that you need to be subscribed to a data plan with your cell phone carrier. Simple...if you can access internet on your phone well then it means that you have a data plan. Also you do not need any special setup..you will receive emails from anyone who emails you. I paid $900 when it just came out. You can also email me if you need more info and you will be sure that I will get your request for info.
hi david malka
that was a real prompt reply. David, i didnt understand when u said u need a data plan? I mean what does that mean? Also can i receive emails from anyone or i have to set that up through my settings? David also how much did you get your p990i for?
Well as a matter of fact I spoke to Sony Ericsson and a very nice girl at customer service told me that they are testing it and that it should be released before the end of the month. As for the push email it automatically creates a folder in your messages called EMO. They are no fees to activate this. You just need a data plan. You will be able to try it for 30-Days. Follow the instructions carefully when you install it and it will work like magic.
hi david malka
when do u think the R9 update service would be available? Also regarding the push email, in which folder would my emails be stored if i receive them? What would be the charges to activate this on my phone?
Forget about Flurry...you have to start their application to see your emails. The software that I am using runs 24/7 on the background and you get your emails and get to see them instantly. This is the best software around. They offer a 30-day free trial and then they sell the licsence for $49 euro wich is really worth it when youll try it. You can go to https://www.alwaysonmail.com/ and try it. This program is also recommended on the Sony Ericsson website. It's just amazing. Let me know how you like it.
Hi all, download flurry from web site www.flurry.com for instant E-Mail push. you will get E-Mails on your mobile. this is free ware.
David Malka - What program did you buy to enable the push email? Also where did you buy it?
Hey guys..i've been usinf the P990 for 2 months and I admit that at first I was dissapointed because of the bugs BUT the only thing you need to do is go to Sony Ericsson and download the upgrade program and you will be able to upgrade your phone. Doing that has fixed most of the bugs. I have the R7 version installed and I know they are about to launch the R9. Once you do the upgrade you will realize that this phone is one of the best out there. What else could you possibly want on a phone? I even installed a Push Email solution and my phone works like a Blackberry...I get my emails automatically without having to go look for them. Bottom Line.....this is an amazing phone. You will love it.
I recently purchased this phone and boy is it buggy. I have one too many problems with this phone. So I decided to return this garbage. I should of just went with the free phone that T-Mobile offer.
seems like u a sindhi...i am one too...mate i shall advice u a p990i coz i am buying that myself...nokia n80 is a different category of a phone...no touchscreen and stuff..looks like a conventional nokia phone...go for SE p900i mate. By the way which part of the world are u from?
Best phone I have ever had. In particular, once you update it using the SE service, it works perfect.
O2 UK have delayed the handset until 27th November 2006. The phone must have some serious bugs. Can anyone recommend an alternative to the P990i? I particularly require extremely reliable access to email (Full Qwerty plus ability to view attachments incl. Excel and Picture Files), vibrate function and ideally a good screen, WiFi and camera. Even better would be an included FM tuner. Is this asking too much? Is there another handset currently available that can fulfill some or most of these criteria? The phone would be strictly for business usage and is needed fairly urgently - I don't want to leave O2 but dont want to keep waiting for a bug-riddled P990i. I would appreciate any and all advice.
I have a P990 for over 2 months now. I belive this is the biggest joke that SE launched on the market so far. The batery is only 4 day, the software is slow and has big problems... what can i say more than I WANT 2 change my phone, because this is no BUSSINES PHONE. Don't buy it if u are a intensive phone user - it doesn't worth the price.
for the person wanting an o2 upgrade:-
if you up your price plan to o2 max the phone is free.....or wait till jan and the prices of upgrades are coming for 100%!
yes u r right mate. I shouldnt be answering these questions. Take a chill pill mate
This is a P990 thread. Why make comments on a phone you don't even have? You might be better answering questions about a phone you actually own rather than a much older model. The P990 shows incoming foreign numbers.
mate, i have a sony ericsson z800i. I am in Melbourne, Australia. When i get a call from my friend in the US it shows as "withheld". So take it easy matey.
For Becky: Ravi has no idea what he's talking about. The phone DOES display the number when you receive a call from another country. My friend in the US calls me all the time and his name and number always pop up on the screen.
sir this is the best phone in the world. try it and this put your comments on it.
nokia never have had same like this phone so please don't compare it with nokia mobiles.
regarding the shape i belive it is the best in the world.
