Do they keys have good tactile feedback?
that's what is important to me.
The problem with the keyboard quality is starting to be real pain in the ass for all the new owners of the device.
My wife had been using the phone for 2 days when key '2' broke in half without any hard pressing. :(
On a Russian forum there are lots of messages concerning this problem. Some people have all of their keys cracked already!!
I consider SE to replace keyboards free of charged with better ones! Otherwise they SUCK!
nice phone~ love the design.
nothing special about the fcns though because it's basically same as some previous SE phones.
My only 2 complaints are the shiny surface (fingerprints show really easily and you gotta keep wiping it) and the # keypad. It's easy to use, but it feels so fragile. I gotta restrain from pressing the keys with my nails cuz it feels like I just might crack them.
for those who opt to see the camera samples here is some samples from esato:
notice that the jpeg compression is not strong as compared to the mediocre shots from W710, K610, W850 and so on
I've had no problems with texting. Keys are the same used for W800/W700, very comfortable to use :)
The thing I LOVE about my new S500: the lighting effects. It's it UNIQUE feature. You can check them out here:
i had no problems with the keypad, and im a big texter. however, they have all cracked (striaght down the middle) within the first week so i'm sending it back for repairs. i hope this is only my phone and not all of them are like this?
Anybody have anything to say on the keypad?
According to Mobile Burns review, " The keypad keys are usable, but definitely feel like they rest on top of a single slab of rubber, like many keypads did in years past. They aren't what I would term wobbly, but they certainly don't feel like they are all attached to the phone independently, either. "
And from other readings, the keypad on this S500 and W580 suck. Does anyone agree or disagree?
I'm still using a Sony Ericsson T610 and love the keys on it but want to upgrade to this but I'm big on texting so I need good keys
What does everyone think of about the keypad?
I've read 2 reviews on this phone, one said the keys were horrible and texting was a pain, the other just said that the keys were wobbly and cheap. Does anyone else have this problem?
I want to buy this phone for my girl but she is a big texter and the keypad is very important to her. She is currently using a SE W810i and likes those keys but she didn't like the keys on my K800 and my W800.
Can anyone give me their opinion on the keys? Thanks!
Sadly, it doesn't have a flash, but the camera is still pretty good in well-lit situations. The video is still pretty lousy though. As far as whether or not its worth it is your call, but I'm really digging mine in spite of some technical shortcomings.
I just got this phone yerterday in the goldy/yellow colour...very nice phone with plenty of features, luuuuv the ever changing themes plus there's quite a few more to download from the SE site as well, I paid £199.95 handset only (sim free) from cpw
but you don't think its strange that of the official SE-hompage is only the green/yellow one postet...
You can find all the colors of S500 in this link http://forum2.mobile-review.com/showthread.php?p=578979
Sorry can anyone tell me if this mobile has flash with the camera and if the pictures iwth it aren't good quality cause i am palling to buy this phone, and it will cost me around 170pounds including shipping, is it a good price?
How to use picture phone book for SMS. Like the W800i you can see the image of the person sending the text message. Can anyone tell me if there is a specific way to do this?
