right now i have a phone with sprint and in my opinion i pay 2 much for the little minutes and txt messages they offer me. i went browsing around cingular and the sony ericsson s710 caught my eye. i love the way it swirls and what i really love was it has an mp3 player. im a music freak so that really was a yes for me. So i was wondering how many songs it can hold cause i dont really understand the mega byte thing. i bought an ipod but i could never get the songs on their. So is it easy to download songs onto the phone? email me with opinons and etc. thanks
i wanna change the housing but i cant find any. where can u find it. i already tried ebay.
Few Qs: Is it that difficult to open this phone with one hand? About the menu slowness, is that just in the main menu or is it everywhere? Does the USB cable go into the charging socket like most other phones? How much internal (non-memory stick) memory does it have to hold phonebook entry pictures? Thx in advance!
i had the same problem w/ calling... i would call someone, and it would terminate the call and hang up... also, i had the problem of static when talking but not so bad that i couldnt hear the person....
Overall, this is a great phone... thank gosh i didnt buy the Razr!!!!!!!!!!!

This phones sickkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!!!!!!!!!
It has the clearest camera ive ever seen on a phone. And for all you people crying about da 128mb card deal wif it itz a fone nawt a mp3 player!Lastly this fone has sick reception and it looks sickkkk!
Could someone please tell me if this phone is capable of playing clips more that 30 seconds long, I am very interested in it, but video playback is essential for me. Thanks for the help.
regarding the memory stick adaptor that comes along w/ the phone.. how are we suppose to connect it to our computers? i jus got this phone and i really wanna put some songs on it
does anyone know how hard it is to replace the housing? does doing so void the product warranty?
I just got my s710 yesterday and i think the phone rules and charging the phone is extremely short and the battery life is awesome. The thing i dont get is why do the give you only a 32 mb memory stick duo? Oh well its still great.
i just bought a card for my phone yesterday, then i found this:
dayam too late to cancel...
ive had my s710a for 4 months now and i totally LOVE it!!!! where i live i didnt get very good reception and when i got this phone the reception was amazing!!the camera is so clear i love taking pics. my friends absolutly love it. the design is wonderful i love how its so different from all the other phones out there.the only thing i dont like is that my phone has a bunch of scratches and i cant get ne covers for it. other than that i think the phone is absolutly wonderful. i highly recommend it
I just got my phone today in the mail from Cingular. Currently bargain-shopping some 128 MB Memory Sticks. The phone, thusfar, is awesome. The shutter sound problem that people have been having appears to be fixed. In my camera settings, I was able to choose from 3 shutter sounds or "no sound".
Re: the Lexar 256 MB Memory Stick - It can NOT be used with this phone because it is not a (physically smaller) Memory Stick Duo. The ONLY type of Memory Stick that you can use is the Memory Stick Duo (MUST be 'Duo', and CAN NOT be 'pro').
That Lexar Memory Stick is the only non-Pro Memory Stick I've seen with capacity over 128 MB. That's because the non-Pro Memory Sticks CAN NOT have more than 128 MB capacity. The only reason the Lexar stick has more is because it has a physical toggle switch on it that selects one of two 128-MB banks. You will probably not see this happen with Memory Stick Duos because they are too small to have a physical toggle switch (I could be wrong, though).
I imagine that for as long as you have this phone you're just going to have to be satisfied with 128 MB of storage capacity. At least you can buy multiple Memory Stick Duos, though.
I've had mobile phones since 1992 and this is by far the best. The large and clear screen is incredible. Hiding the keys to make the screen larger is a great idea, since you hardly need the keys. I agre with all the positive commetns of the other posters but would like to add one more.
I think Sony Ericcson put a larger antenna in this model, and that's very possible because of its layout. At one location my wife and I am at a lot, my old Sony Ericsson T616 didn't work, and my wife's Treo 600 doesn't work. But this phone works, at least most of the time, because it is really a weak signal area.
