I can see that se fans worried about latest pre release unit of omnia hd which has big improvements,no lag,fast,stable..
I'm both se n samsung phone owner, but i must realize that omnia hd much better than idou..the wise conclusion :
- idou is best smartcamfone
- omnia hd is the best overall multimedia smartfone
Idou pros over hd:
Hd pros over idou:
Memory 16gb+monster 256mb ram
3.7 biggest amoled capcitive
So there's no match between both phone..
Camera take idou
Multimedia take hd
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970ill let you know, nick has a female girlfriend.
just a little insight into my life.
Anonymous, 13 May 2009kal...forget about the company ...forget that you are a samsung fan...then i would to ask you,... moreThat's why I said it's about personal preference. If I have tight budget, then it's not just the camera or video that I will consider..there are other areas to look at...how does it look...how is the screen, what's the internal capacity, what processor it's using, battery capacity, weather it uses 3.5mm or not and so and so. Idou's full specs are not out yet, we don;t know it's price either. Considering the time gap between the two release, it will be tough to decide. HD won't cost you a lot. Idou would be good choice for many if the price is not too high.
One more thing, if IDOU doesn't have HD capability and it indeed comes with a better battery and with decent internal memory, then comparing it with Omnia HD will be like comparing apples to oranges. Both will have their own appeal. By 28th may we will know if its going to be Orange or not.
mccoy, 13 May 2009any laptop or LCD TV that is not HD ready will not be able to play HD videos... even video pla... moreI heard it comes with vga video out through 3.5mm jack in case you don't know.
Omniua HD can playback HD video on HD monitor!
Have you seen the GSMArena prereview on Samsung Omnia HD - it worth it!
see HD video samples in HD! Quality is great for a smartphone!
We do not need 12mp camera - 8mp more than enough.
HD more useful and less compromise.
OLED is great.
Battery also - unlike SE´s 1000 mAh fot TFT !!!!
mccoy, 13 May 2009any laptop or LCD TV that is not HD ready will not be able to play HD videos... even video pla... moreer the omnia has an HDMI out attachment...
and all HD televisions have at least one HDMI in port.
any laptop or LCD TV that is not HD ready will not be able to play HD videos... even video player... you need blue ray to play HD videos.... so if you have the latest laptops, LCD TV and blue ray then buy HD video camcorder or the OMNIA HD. and remember OMNIA has no TV output... it uses the DLNA technology for HD viewing on LCD TV... which of course only new LCD TV are capable....
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Nokia sucks, look at the N97, is the slowest on Earth, just put a lot of things from the int memory, and you will see! SE ROCKS!!!
IDOU...luks like one of d best phones as HTC Touch HD...this'll beat all d phones bcoz whn it'll come till time all phones will be old in dis catagory, i m also waiting for dis cellphone..
nick, 13 May 2009regarding battery, the omnia HD will have a far better battery life...
well the scr... moreAMOLED and TFT ????
New technology versus old outdated tech.
SE has lost another battle.
Se late with:
decent and reliable battery
and still millions waiting for the 3.5mm jack :))))
La lang, 13 May 2009Before SE Idou hit our shelves, it will be obsolete already. Palm Pre, iPhone 2009 and Omnia ... moreI agree!
SE fans started to realize that SE strategy just do not work.
By the time of release Idou will be totally outdated.
It is also likely that this model like other will be released with bugs and faulty/hardware problems.
In best case, it will take months to get all updates and improved versions - 2010 June-July.
It looks bad when Se needs Sagem´s technology - HTC production lines etc.
I guess SE provides the slogans :
Entertainment unlimited? :))))))))
great amzing phone specs. I am not a iphone fan by anymeans but please fit a headphone socket. I will not get one unless it has one. If it does not it will be a ointless phone
regarding battery, the omnia HD will have a far better battery life...
well the screen may be 0.2" bigger, but it is AMOLED. This means there is no backlight required which is the most power consuming feature on a screen.
the idou will obviously need one for it's tft screen.
and i reckon because samsung have made s60 phones before, they'll be more prepared, regarding the firmware this is, and it will be more energy efficient.
and of course, the battery is 1.5 times bigger...
Before SE Idou hit our shelves, it will be obsolete already. Palm Pre, iPhone 2009 and Omnia HD will be alredy out and making waves. If I were SE, I would just not realeas this model, becuase I bet this will be delayed and delayed and delayed... no point already :-(
SE will suffer the same fate as Motorola. SE design are old fashioned and no new innovation at all. Im so sad because I am an SE fan since 1999, but now for more than 2 years that I dont see new things from SE, I am so saddened. While Samsung and LG are stepping up with new design and innovation, SE keep on coming up with recycled design. Soon SE will be history in mobile phone world, they will be obsolete. Same as what happened to Alcatel and Siemens. :-(
This is just my opinion guys.
about the post on reliability...
i definitely agree and have avoided SE since my k800 and gfs s500 died for no reason and hasn't been able to fix.(tried a lot of places)
i always guessed that their smartphones would be more reliable. i haven't tried their smartphones though but i have some hope for this one
Impressive features but its a Sony Ericsson and reliability will be a huge problem, case in point, the C905.
Unless SE can sort out the reliability issues prevelant on all their handsets they will continue to lose market share as they have over the last few years.
If this phone is fault free then just maybe SE won't be the new Motorola
