----"sony invented the oled, but samsung,lg,sharp buy the patent n developt the oled panels"---- Do you have any source claiming it? As far my knowledge goes it was developed long back and NOT by Sony.
--"unfortunately,people prefer to buy lcd tv and electronics devices use oled, they leave plasma,,it's sony mistake"---- It's NOT UNFORTUNATE that people prefer to buy LCD or OLED. LCD has advantages over Plasma. Plasma consumes more energy, it has limited lifespan, it reflects more ambient light and it is thicker than LCD. All these SONY failed to foresee. When they realized the potential of LCD they asked for Samsung's help. Now OLED has more advantages over LCD. It doesn't require backlight..it's thin, it consumes less energy, it has greater range of colors, brightness, contrast and viewing angle and it has faster response time. That's why the future is OLED. If sony was first to come up with OLED who is stopping them to develop more. Why samsung Sdi is the only OLED supplier!!!!
In 2004 Sony released the Sony CLIÉ PEG-VZ90, the first commercial device to feature an OLED screen.
In 2006 Sony introduced the MZ-RH1 Portable Minidisc Recorder, which has an OLED screen.
At the Las Vegas CES 2007, Sony showcased 11-inch (28 cm, resolution 960×540) and 27-inch (68.5 cm, full HD resolution at 1920×1080) models claiming million-to-one contrast ratio and total thickness (including bezels) of 5 mm. Sony released a commercial version of this television in Japan in December, 2007.
Sony plans to begin manufacturing 1000 11-inch OLED TVs per month for market testing purposes. Sony has begun selling an 11-inch OLED Digital TV (XEL-1) for $2499.99 CAD
On May 25, 2007, Sony publicly unveiled a video of a 2.5-inch flexible OLED screen which is only 0.3 millimeters thick. The screen displayed images of a bicycle stunt and a picturesque lake while the screen was flexed. On October 1 2007, Sony announced it will sell 11-Inch OLED TVs for 200,000 yen (1,962.51 USD as of 4/1/08) from December 2007, only in Japan and with an initial production of 2000 units per month.
At the CES 2008, Sony showcased the Walkman® X series with 3” OLED touchscreen.
On April 16, 2008, at "Display 2008", Sony showed a 0.2 mm (0.0079 inch) thick 3.5 inch display with a resolution of 320x200 pixels and a 0.3 mm thick 11 inch display with 960x540 pixels resolution. That's one-tenth the thickness of the XEL-1 (which is also 11 inch and the same resolution).
On October 4, 2008, Sony has published results of research it carried out with the Max Planck Institute over the possibility of mass-market bending displays, which could replace rigid LCDs and plasma screens. Eventually, bendable, transparent OLED screens could be stacked to produce 3D images and their outstanding characteristics means that their contrast ratio and viewing angles are far, far better than existing products .

My contract end in october then i will take the this phone and if se fail i will buy the tg1 not a korean copy :)
Samsung was sony's factory for long time like korean being japan first factory (1 percent of the population is composed by korean whish is huge for this closed country) moreover all the asians market are copy of the japanese one samsung just take advantage of sony's thinking samsung will stay their for and try to do the same with htc but fail, one of the first oled was created by sony with another japanese company. Samsung need others companies help and you know that korean are just factory copying others with the help of others technologies 0 inovation :)
Anonymous, 27 Apr 2009Afaik..sony invented the oled, but samsung,lg,sharp buy the patent n developt the oled panels..... moreyou can repeat the same junk (incorrect) info again and agai,n but
it was NOT Sony who developed the OLED! :))))
So easy to check - are you okay? :)))
i want to buy this phone. but i am so poor so that i cant afford to buy it. anyways i wish good luck for this Phone because its great.
Afaik..sony invented the oled, but samsung,lg,sharp buy the patent n developt the oled panels..sony attracted to plasma, not oled+lcd..sony never sell the lcd+oled panels..but sells plasma..unfortunately,people prefer to buy lcd tv and electronics devices use oled, they leave plasma,,it's sony mistake, that's why samsung sdi is the only one oled suplier in the world, and sony called samsung lcd (now s-lcd) to make lcd panels for sony bravia,
S lcd joint venture share : 51% by samsung, 49% by sony but, all facilities, factory, system equipment, scientist, location belongs to samsung in south korea, only about 23 staff from sony who inspecting the manufacturing of lcd in another factory complex..that's why lcd, oled made by samsung,,sony plasma failed to success..
Lcd suplier rank :
1. Samsung (s-lcd)
Oled suplier :
Samsung sdi (only)
It is funny:
reps argue about the OLED in the SE Idou forum but Idou does not even has OLED screen :))))
Samsung HD has one just FYI :))))
SE needs help:
1: financially - unable to pay its bills, losing money each quarter - millions of Euro/ USD
2: and technology:
˝ Sagem will license certain hardware and software technologies related to mobile phone platforms to Sony Ericsson while an Original Developer Manufacturer agreement will see Sagem Communication provide Sony Ericsson with a number of Sony Ericsson branded mobile phones. ˝
SE needs help from SAGEM !!!! :))))
You can not handle the truth? :))))
Anybody can use a technology developed by others - all they had to do is pay the license :))))
OLED was developed over decades and SE got nothing to do with it.
SE currently unable to pay its bills - losses millions.
