Afaik..sony invented the oled, but samsung,lg,sharp buy the patent n developt the oled panels..sony attracted to plasma, not oled+lcd..sony never sell the lcd+oled panels..but sells plasma..unfortunately,people prefer to buy lcd tv and electronics devices use oled, they leave plasma,,it's sony mistake, that's why samsung sdi is the only one oled suplier in the world, and sony called samsung lcd (now s-lcd) to make lcd panels for sony bravia,
S lcd joint venture share : 51% by samsung, 49% by sony but, all facilities, factory, system equipment, scientist, location belongs to samsung in south korea, only about 23 staff from sony who inspecting the manufacturing of lcd in another factory complex..that's why lcd, oled made by samsung,,sony plasma failed to success..
Lcd suplier rank :
1. Samsung (s-lcd)
Oled suplier :
Samsung sdi (only)
It is funny:
reps argue about the OLED in the SE Idou forum but Idou does not even has OLED screen :))))
Samsung HD has one just FYI :))))
SE needs help:
1: financially - unable to pay its bills, losing money each quarter - millions of Euro/ USD
2: and technology:
˝ Sagem will license certain hardware and software technologies related to mobile phone platforms to Sony Ericsson while an Original Developer Manufacturer agreement will see Sagem Communication provide Sony Ericsson with a number of Sony Ericsson branded mobile phones. ˝
SE needs help from SAGEM !!!! :))))
You can not handle the truth? :))))
Anybody can use a technology developed by others - all they had to do is pay the license :))))
OLED was developed over decades and SE got nothing to do with it.
SE currently unable to pay its bills - losses millions.
an se fan, 26 Apr 2009sony shows it's first oled screen in 2000 so please shut uptell us the source otherwise may be you should .... :)))

all these ´LOL´ guys with lack of education.
an se fan, 26 Apr 2009don't forget that sony mastered the oled and a huge number of technologies that start this yea... moreOLED and Sony ????
Well, Japanese companies mostly just copy already developed technology.
OLED was developed over 10 years ago :)!
Sony´s Cutting edge technology? Not!

~whatever~, 26 Apr 2009IMHO, this phone is good at its very own 12mpx camera capability ONLY..its just like the old k... more12 mpx is for marketing it's eyecatching everybody speak and will speak of it and in three years sony ericsson will launch more than 20mpx camera for gsm.
Just wait for the 28 may 2009 to know the entertainment unlimited strategy, this phone's full specs and the A300 operating systém for the non-smartphone. :)
IMHO, this phone is good at its very own 12mpx camera capability ONLY..its just like the old k850i before...when we see the specs, we'll feel that the phone is worth to buy but its not actually..well, am not an SE basher, but what i can say here that SE did a good job, but not great enough..well, its just an opinion..
Somebody tell me whether this phone may be or will be having a Dual Sim or Twin Sim.
´Right after Apple declared their exuberant financial health, Samsung published the summary of their financial Q1 2009. The report indicates that the company has made profit again...´
and all the reps in their cubicle :)))
if you are here to read ´users´ opinion - get real - this phone is not released yet.
if you looking for news you should read the industry publications - but I guess it is hard for you to follow. :)))
˝The company plans cutting down approximately €400 million (approximately $516 million USD) in expenses, which will also result in cutting 2,000 people from their jobs.˝
Who will make the Idou by October?
with 1000mAh battery!
This phone will not be released this year - that is my prediction.
29mm in the SLR/DSLR standards (full frame) is wide!
You do your research.
50mm considered NORMAL! :))
he sensor size of camera phones are so small that the quality of a digital camera so much better since the sensor size much larger and the electronics much more advanced.
The DLRs are has so much bigger sensors that it is pointless to compare.
The compact digital cameras already have much larges sensors and lenses and that itself enough to outperform the phones. The much more advances electronics just increases the difference.
A relatively good compact camera is about 400-500 USD.
(DSLR 1500 and up)
You pay for performance and quality when you get a digital camera - a phone will not produce similar quality.
That is the reason that today a 12mp phone camera is pointless. Much better to have a 5-8mp phone with great lens and less dense sensor - better quality.
12mp sensor more dense producing more noise and artifact with out the benefit of useful resolution.
For normal size print (8.5x11 or A4 - people rarely print this size or larger) 5-8mp is more than enough resolution.
12mp is just a PR/ / SALES gimmick without merit - actually it has disadvantage since with the same technology an 8mp sensor would produce a much better image!!!!!!!
Anonymous, 26 Apr 2009Its obvious that u dnt do enuf reserch b4 u post.nokia is nt d first wit wide angle lense cos,... morehaha i would hardly consider 29mm as wide angle since standard cameras are 28mm. Why don't you do YOUR research.
Anonymous, 26 Apr 2009actually, GSM arena posted a sample picture of idou.. and it is so ugly.. it is 9mp, and very ... morei was to amaze about the n86 picture quality, so i took a sample of picture in my n82...
can anyone tell me the difference of the two except for the pixel count? i mean, for me, its almost the same!
Anonymous, 26 Apr 2009You what i dont like about samsung omniaHD? its design.. the glossy plastic just look cheap.
... morewill yah i didn't like the Omnia HD design..IDOU is much more better but like you said
the specs of Omnia HD are much better then IDOU
if IDOU didn't use Exmor and OMAP3 then it's nothing but a design..
as for the picture that was taken by IDOU at 9MP yah it wasn't nice but that also because of the low light of the place and the thing that the user toke shot of the picture it also will effect on the picture's quality as you see at n86's picture there is many lights in the place and the building looks nice which make the picture looks very nice and high quality and less noise
Anonymous, 26 Apr 2009though it depends on the user, i can't imagine anyone viewing pictures in an environment where... moreIts obvious that u dnt do enuf reserch b4 u post.nokia is nt d first wit wide angle lense cos, sharp in japan did it about 3 to 2yrs back and it was 29mm wide!
