I just got a T700 (black on silver) yesterday, I'd been looking for this phone for a week but most sellers got out of stock.
This is the slimmest and sleekest SE phone I've owned. I owned a K608, W300, and K530 before. The phone looks really beautiful.
The soft keys are changed. I'm also missing the back button, and still getting used to the new set of soft keys.
Like what others have said, the sound that comes from the speaker isn't that great. It sounds like a tin can. Also, I tried recording and I noticed that mic seems to pick up a lot of noise.
The interface isn't really that slow as what people here have been saying. It's because of the animation, that's why it takes a bit slower for the phone to respond.
Camera is good considering that it's not a Cybershot.
Overall, I'll give it an 8/10. Design wise, it's a 9/10. :)

I currently have P990i. Is it worth it if I changed to T700. I am considering the 3G feature since I use my P900i as a modem. Does T700 come with a PC Suite?

Always had Nokias. Love this phone. A few differences to Nokia, but just as easy to use. With light use the battery lasted a week!

I just got this phone and its really nice. Simple and elegant. The music and cam function for me is just for back up.
My prob is, I've been experiencing the phone restarting on its own. Thrice. Twice when it was on standby in the message box, and the third one while on idle mode.
Does it need an upgrade?
Please help.

Hi i am hemnath from India. I got a red on black T700i on 18-Jan-09 for 11,350rs (INR). i will give a detailed review about the phone. Since i gave a complete look at the phone and i will tell my experiences. This phone is one sexy model that i ever own from Sony. my previous phones were (k810i, w810i, k750i, k700i, t630i, T230i) and this one i like the most, but the phone has got some flaws too. i am not very happy with the keypad, have to use it carefully, and slowly. i will also say that the phone is bit slow, can't cope up with the speed my K810i is very speedy, may be it has got some stabled firmware. and next, the phone reception is not too great, i mean fluctuating signal, this problem is already described here. The media center is good and does its job. The camera is ok, and captures it very well. The K810i and T700i battery are both same, but my K810i last one day longer than T700i, i mean the ratio is 2:3 in favour of K810i, may be you can start using normal themes instead of flash themes in the mobile and can get extra battery life... the music player is good and does it job clean the headphones that come with the player is bass reflexes headphones, which does it job very good, sound is really nice. the interface of this phone is good, but the downside(for me) is i lost my traditional back key which is found in other sony phones (K810I, W810I, T610I), So i took time for me to get used to. the power button is replaced, it is just call cut key now. To be frank the major downside is, the phone is bit slow, when you open media center and they you minimize it, and open other application, you will see the difference, its very slow, especially while typing messages, the phone reacts very slowly, this is the only problem for me bluetooth, and works with ease and everything else is fine.
I am expecting a software update soon, to make the phone more stable. To be frank the phone doesn't hanged at all, it is slow. so a software update can do the job, i am expecting the price to go down too. since C510i will be soon out. so watch out for that too. but my eyes will always be on T700i
So guys go ahead and buy T700i, you will love it.

Does w810 have better reception? Some sites have complained about the reception and some say its good reception, what do you think?

sound quality, can't beat my old w810

T700 is WoW.
It's slim, lightweight, and shiny.
Function is easily accessed.
Easy enough to remember how to operate.
Price is mid-range, quality is mid-high.

hi! anyone knows if there's any timelimit regarding to ringtone, coz i downloaded some tones, it happens that it stops and not finish the tones, unlike nokia phones...

Nikel, 13 Jan 2009Hey!guys... do you think this is a good pick??Im planning to buy this one rather than C902..Previously had the T650 wonderful phone and thinking of gettin this one! Got the C902 as a present for xmas its rubbish very slow buttons are very fiddly, pictures very dark even though has good options like best pic etc.....
Will defininately get the T700 better the devil you know it works all the time
