i've recently brought the sony ericsson v800 and would like to use mp3 as ringtones but theres drm protection key missing, please could anybody help me out on how to do this thank you

DRM packager is freely available on the internet. Try emule. I downloaded it, and it works great. all MP3s can be set as ringtone. ENJOY!

I've just bought a Sony Erickson V800 and my main concern is to do with the convertion of MP3 files into ringtones... Since I've seen ur message, pls let me know where and how am I going to overcome this pro. On the other hand, I've got a lot of restrictions on the use of the phone in my country, since it is a 3G phone and the Network in my country, Angola, does not support it. What can I do to overcome all this?

ive just come off the phone talking to sony ericsson customer support, i asked about this drm key missing ( basically you cant use mp3 as ringtones), SE said Vodafone has caused this problem, they have not added this to their software in the phone and that there is no way to correct it. Oh What joy.

I've just ordered this phone and it will arrive tomorrow. Please can someone advise on how I make sure I have the latest software on the handset and how I overcome the mp3/ringtone problem. Thanks in advance!

this is a 3G mobile phone and yes it is a video phone.
I agree with the friend who said that the construction is delicate, that is true.

You must have the "Sony-Ericsson v800 Mp3 Player Drm Packager". You can find it in any peer to peer program or send me a email and iŽll send it to you. With this program you convert you mp3 music in a dm file, and then you can play it like a ringtone for example.

My v800 can't play mp3.It says DRM protection key is missing.Is there any way I can play mp3 from my V800.Please help.Thanks.

I'm quite disappointed with this model. I was hoping for more, but looks like it's just a cheap model made for vodafone, the processor is okay and so is the menu design, but construction is rather delicate, screws go right into plastic, no metal, flip is highly sensitive, looks like something made on the run with no testing whatsoever.
Very much unlike sonyericsson.
So for now I'll just stick to my latest favourite, S700, until the P990 is in ;)
