Overall this phone is not worth a penny you spent on it.
The phones walkman player is slow and crashes regularly. The camera mode lacks zoom, unless in burst mode, which is a rather useless move which downgrades the quallity a lot. The OS often freezes at startup - the phone will take about a minute to catch up with itself, screen goes white and turns off.
The themes (which are on other ericcsson phones) are extremely limited and unexpandable. The 'sent messages' folder holds a poor amount of space and takes not long to fill up. Random contacts will have 'number errors' which are only fixed by deleting the contact and adding under a different name.
Worst of all, this phone fails to function correctly when it gets to low temperatures. It is virtually impossible to use in cold conditions as either a 'sim read error' or fake 'empty' display pops up on the screen.
Considering sony make the best phones on the market, this is poor

Is w302 equal to other walkman series in sony ericson?
is its sound quality (both FM and Mp3) really good like the other walkman series? Apart from hanging and other drawbacks i am verymuch concerned about its sound quality through its earphones
Is it worth buying?

it hangs a lot battery wont stay for 3 hrs.

aside from the constant hanging, and low message memory, its a good phone for cheap. one thing i notice is the screen color becomes red whenever im using the phone for call, games or radio. battery has a short life, considering its size, its ok. all in all its a good enough phone if you don't want to spend too much

This phone is rubbish, i wouldn't waste your money on it, sony ericsson phone's are the best but this is a let down!

the good:
- looks, weight, width and height
the bad:
- can store only a few messages
- hangs/freezes every so often, i have to remove the battery to make it start again
- the operator logo disappears and "insert sim" appears on the screen. you have to remove the battery and sim card to make it run again
- the sound is poor, too soft, you can barely hear it. the ascending alert is very very irritating.
if you have low expectations from a phone or not picky/choosy, you won't be disappointed. it's just a basic phone with basic features.
this is not even a true blue sony ericsson phone. they subcontracted sagem to manufacture it.

Once you have the settings, install the java program you wanted, let it connect to the internet to finish the installation. That's it.

Once you have the settings, install the java program you wanted, let it connect to the internet to finished the installation. That's it.

hei i gotthis mobile as a gift..........
the desing is just fine..picture quality is gud............ butttttttttttttttttttttttttttt
the sound quality to tooooooooooooooooooooo low. I barely hear even if ma fone rings (how ever sharp my ring tone is)
this make this set score toooooooooo low..............
i would say that this set is not worth the price.................. :(

w302 can not minimized when run java apps or game, can not copy or paste text, navigation with numeric key only on main menu, no folder theme, sms delivery report placed on inbox, photo thumb on photo album show one photo so dificult to brows, can not download if file not support eg. zip, and many.
