Do not buy this phone... really really this is the worst ever product released by Sony Ericcsson.. These are the various problems in the Mobile... Its really a crap...
PROBEMS FACED:
1)Smileys:
Smileys are not gettin displayed and to be frank i got attracted to Sony Mobiles mainly because of these attractive smileys...
2)Shortcuts:
In other Sony phones if one pressed Menu and button 5 for instance Messaging opens..And after that if one presses 2 for instance Inbox opens... But in this phone the 1st shortcut(i.e) if one presses 5 Messaging opens but the inner shortcuts are not working which makes it more difficult for easy access... Only the shortcut in the Main Menu works whereas other shortcuts doesn...
3)Groups:
For adding a contact to Group it takes a zeal of work to be done.. Please check it out...
4) Themes:
For all other sony phones the default theme file is of the extension ".thm" but the format for this phone(w302) is really unknown which forces the users to use only the inbuilt themes... This is really very sickening...
5) Network Settings:
Even though i ve received all the necessary settings for access to internet and i ve installed them, still ony the default browser supports this... I am using Opera Mini since my childhood but this phone doesn support opera mini and its giving an error message stating that "Contact ur operator for java Internet Settings".. If the settings are not properly received then why is the default browser alone supporting Internet access???
6) Sound Clarity:
The Sound Clarity is very very poor and this makes this phone not recognized as a Walkman phone... Eventhough i ve kept the volume to 8(which is the maximum) i cant hear the ringtone if i am 5 metres far too...
7)Delivery Reports:
Delivery reports is another sickening part of this phone where reports are not getting displayed as a pop up as in the traditional Sony Ericcsson Phones... In this delivery reports is gettin into Inbox and creating lots of problems where the user must delete the delivery report each and every time which is really bad...
8) Save Contacts to Memory card:
I have used w200i mobile where there is an option called save contacts to memory card... This option is present in this mobile also but the sad part is if i want to restore all my contacts from memory card i must do it one by one... It would be better if u provide a Retrive all contacts from memory card option as in the case of w200i...
9)Text Message Display Type:
The Text message delivered to inbox displays the sender name along with the 1st few characters of the message.. In all other traditional Sony Ericcsson phones we can change this display type to display the Sender name with date and time... This feature is also missing and its necessary for privacy purposes...

Dont buy this, I have been using this from last 4 months, really very pathatic. Need to restart the mobile everytime else dont get the network. Message storage also very less. Its 7.5 k but not worth to get it for 2K.

Nikhil, 15 Jan 2009Hi good afternoon, i am thinking to buy sony ericsson w302, i want to know the exact price of this .don't buy it, it cost around £88 on orange pay as you go, and really isn't worth half that. i bought one on tuesday, and it didn't work form the moment i got it out the box. it took 2 days of arguing in the shop and on the phone to get my money back. honestly, don't do it!!!!

this is the worst phone I have ever had, it was faulty from the moment I took it out of the box. one it was charged, the screen began to fault straight away. there were 2 intermittent faults with the screen, firstly the screen displayed multi-coloured vertical lines down the screen. this was rectified by switching the phone off and on, or waiting for key lock and the screen to refresh. the second screen fault was the bottom 3/4 of the screen displayed a "static" type image (like when an electric motor interferes with the TV) and the top 1/4 of the screen displayed two side by side, scaled down images of what the screen should be displaying.
the second fault was that the phone kept switching itself off
the third fault was the phone wouldn't ring certain numbers, even with full signal. i put the sim card in another phone, and those numbers worked fine
I purchased the phone from an orange shop, and the after sales service was terrible. I was told that I was not entitled to a refund, only a credit note or replacement (why would I want the same piece of rubbish again, or to buy something else form somewhere that offers such poor after sales service)
it is a statutory right, protected by the sale of goods act of 1979, that if a good is not of satisfactory quality, as described, or fit for purpose, then the customer is LEGALLY ENTITLED to a refund.
a fault with a product would mean it isn't fit for purpose, as described, and of satisfactory quality. by refusing to give a refund, the store was in breach of this statutory right, and so breaking the law. the telephone customer services was no better, and also told me that a condition of sale, was that the item could not be refunded, even if faulty. British contract law states that a contract cannot remove or infringe upon your statutory rights, so the company was also in breach of contract.
over all I was very disappointed with the phone, however I was even more disappointed with the after sales service offered by the orange store.
DON'T BUY THIS PHONE, AND DON'T USE ORANGE, well that's my advice.

This phone is very unsatisfactory. worst one I have purchased. sound clarity - sounds like your talking in a room (echoes). plastic back plate is irritating hard to fix in place easy to break contact points so be careful, keyboard has small buttons, does not change recently sent/recieved phone numbers to the saved numbers if they were sent/received b4 you saved them. has a three pin recharger where one pin is fake - not sure why they couldn't use a 2 pin recharger, very annoying. contact can only store 1 number per person.
