I look after my phone, haven't dropped it, don't press the keys hard when I text or anything.. It's just a design flaw.. whether you've had your phone two weeks or two years, it will probably get a cracked keypad or soft keys falling off at some point.. If they have solved the problem why are people still having problems??
In all other aspects the phone is brilliant, very impressed with the sound quality.. I just wish I never bought it!!
i have been using this phone for more than 5 monthes when i bought it it got down after 20 days but it was in warranty so i contact to the company they tried to fix it but it was not repairable so they gave me the new one now its working properly one thing that i like in this phone its sound and looks
Anonymous, 31 Dec 2008I have the W580i. It is a great phone! It is slim, has a very good camera and it is very light... moreCan you explain about HOW to take care of it? lol i mean the keys. I've heard the keys get cracked due to the over-heating of the keys while the phone is charging. I soo wanna get this phone.
I would say dis is one of the best phones out there!i've had this phone for two months and it looks like i just got it!plus it plays music loudly!
I've had mine for over a year and a half. Dropped it and everything and have had no problems. I love my phone.
OK THE PHONE IS A GREAT PHONE. it wont break if you take care of it. when you get mad, and text hard, by pushing extremely hard on the keys, then yes it will break the keys, like all phones the sony ericson w580 is fragile, I have had mine for almost a year, and the ninth month i had it, i threw it against the wall, the screen broke. so my point is, buy the phone, but respect it.
I liked the look of this phone so much I decided to ignore everyone's warnings about the keys... The keypad split within two weeks, sony ericsson fit a new, stronger one which has not broken but now the soft keys are falling off and the software is messed up! I've only had it 6 months!
I've learnt my lesson! I'm confused why shops still sell this phone as all batches seem to be faulty!
This phone is by far the best Sony Ericsson I've had and I'm quite a big Sony Ericsson fan indeed. However, this phone is mainly for persons who care their phone well, since problems such as cracked keys, malfunctioning screen, main board crash etc are a result of negligence or carelessness on the part of the phone. April 4th '09 will make it one full year I've had my W580 and it only started giving trouble when it took a dive in the sea with me. I was extremely upset for days since I was unexpected thrown in the sea with the phone. The phone is currently down for the past month due to needing a new main board. I'll fix it back really soon, sell it for less than the going price and buy myself a new W580 and cherish it as I always do my Sony Ericssons. :D
idk wat yall are talkin bout i've had this phone for a year now and all my keys work i guess its just operator error
OH MY... I cannot believe this, i was thinking of buying this phone but not after the comments i've read. oh gosh i've gots mxit, so i cant be having problems with the keypads.. i'm sorry but i love my mxit too much, i can't give it up by buying this phone!!!
Dont buy this phone it is a complete waist of time. It has been in the repair shop more than i have had it. keys cracked, keys falling off, software problems over and over total rubbish
