I put a 2 GB memory card in it. There are some occasional hang ups, maybe once a week but thats ok compared to Nokia which freezes everyday.
ok is the k550 have better sound (ringtone) quality than the 610?????? i see it is a tad bit smaller screen but the reviews are better. please let me know asap! thanks i plan on getting one of these next week
lemme be ur SAVIOR n help for all of u who r interested in this phone...
just got mine 9 days ago just for kicks, i choose this over Nokia E51 & Nokia 5301 Xpress Music
BTW, for the polyphonic, its not true tones like newer nokia phones... though the loudspeaker is VERY VERY L.O.U.D !!!!, sound clarity and clearness is not as good as newer nokia models with true tones (64 poly and above), therefore, i have to say that his phone has about 40-50ish Polyphonic processor not 72 like what this site state!!!
definitely get this over the k550(lower sound quality) or even the w660 or K530 (2 of which doesnt have even an autofocus). camera is almost on par with K550.. almost.. yes, its that good for 2 mb res.!!!
its TFD, not TFT which is actually brighter!! and batt saver. plus the font is very pleasant, large, and very readable. colors r vibrant thou definitely 2nd compared to newer Nokia with 16.7 Mil Colors. nice flash / animated backgrounds
no noticeable lag time truly. the processor is around 200MHZ.. kinda fast for non heavy O/S phone. trust me, NO LAG! it has built in memory of around 60-80ish mb? which is quite nice to put couple of songs in it and it came with 512 M2 mem card to put even more songs n other stuff
fast n easy net connection (Love the RSS features), even has a push email! Bluetooth V2.0 + A2DP works well in here as far as i'm concerned with mine...infrared works well
amazing batt life with 950 mAH, i've used this phone heavily for net + walkman + camera, it lasted 2 days. for normal regular phoneuse, i've got for around 4.5 days
now the killer part... THE walkman apps + track find kicks ass!!! so easy to use with EQ + Mega Bass sound customization. if u listen it with the bundled earphone, thats where this phone triumphs!!! truly feels like a MUSIC player champion with crystal clear clarity, treble, mid, and kicking bass
truly a great phone... i give it an A-
now the downfall of why i'm not giving a full A or A+ :
- not as customizable as Nokia and Moto
- bundled software and file transfer is a bit complicated to install and use compared to Nokia, especially the software update process
- no active standby like Nokia, during sleep u have to push a button to see what's up
- camera lens is not protected or even hidden a bit from the surface - easily scratched over long period of pocket time (a bit protruded for goodness sake)
- ooh... what a bad design for the keypads... took some practice, and patience i tell u... u guys better clip ur nails good and have small fingers if u want to use this phone
- batt cover + sim removal is no breeze
- records video in ancient QCIF (frickish small /scattered resolution)
- it only came with 1 game! & 1 misc. apps!
- again, PC-PHONE software sux
Even with all the shortcomings, yes, buy this phone. with reasonable price and much better than Xpress Music or the ROKR, its truly worth it in its class... no wonder its no.3 top rated phone in here
I hope this helps... send me all the regards if u like this review
got this fone bout 3 months and the 1 downer is that it says bluetooth A2DP n i can't play music thru bluetooth headset. how come?
may i know if the SE W610 has no lag when used with memory card M2 2 Gb?? Please help me guys..
i think it can hold up to 2 gb of memory. you need to buy the card though.
few weeks ago i bought this phone. awesome phone! no real bad feedbacks for it, even if the camera quality at low light seem poor. i love the screen display, very rich! would recommend it!
Can anybody say difference between w810i and w610.Whts the main difference??PLs help me...............
hey dude...wat about the quality of video files n the various formats it cud support..n btw thanx 4 all that info !!
is this phone polyphonic 40 or 72 ? i read on several sites its 40, yet its listed as 72 in here... which one's right? anyone have an idea?
a successor of W810?
I received this phone about 2 weeks ago from a local store in NYC
the first impression is: slim, it's about 2/3 thickness of W810
initially charged the battery, flashed to Hong Kong version, put SIM in, the phone works right away
the LCD has brighter and better color than W810, but I hear a rumor, that there're 2 different hardware version, mine is black like W810, unable to show clock when the phone is idle
the phone has 64MB of memory, this is more than good enough to put some human tones, the pic taken without memory card, except you want to use the phone as audio player
it has updated OS like Z710i or K790a
you can setup multiple recurring alarms
wireless headphones support (it works with itech R35, Plantronics 590a, Logitech ipod headphones, Grandvue Muses 1.2), no dropoff
streaming realaudio/3gp support (requires unlimited GPRS)
the earpiece and speakerphone are pretty loud, much louder than previous models
the buttons are rather small, and I have hard time to find 5 and press up and down
the battery door is side-open with latches, it uses BST-33, which has longer battery time (I got 5.5 hours of active talking time without bt)
some says the cam is not good as W810, however, after I did some intensive comparison with W810, found the difference is not that much
the phone has good reception like other current SE models, but I found antenna is located on the bottom of the phone, you may lose reception when holding phone bottom
here is the conclusion
loud earpiece and speakerphone
bright and better color LCD
up to 5.5 hours of talking time with single charge
W810-like cam with cover
the LED can be used as flashlight like W810
irregular connector and antenna location
M2 card support, which is still expensive per MB
the front plate is fingerprint magnet
I give 88/100 (if the antenna is located on the top, this'll be perfect
(W610i) Nice, but no replacement for a W810i
I've been buying SE products ever since my love affair with the W600i. However, this has been the first SE phone that left me wondering: What were they thinking? I got this phone unlocked (Mediterranean version). Hence the phone doesn't have Spanish or Portuguese which I use often when texting relatives (first let down, but this is not SE's fault) The phone has performed well overall (reception, battery life, features) but there are other things that make it a no-keeper for me.
-Beautiful color screen (better than W810i, same as on K790a)
-Camera is flush with the phone. Flush surface is very nice (in this case)
-The ability to use BT headphones
-FM radio seems to get better signal than the W810i.
-KEYPAD! OMG I find it almost impossible to text on this thing. If you have long finger nails, forget it! I noticed a little improvement after clipping my nails really short though. I clip my nails every two weeks! If I keep this phone I'll have to clip them once a week.
-Voice quality: Muffled. I have to keep the phone at about 80%-85% high. If I raise the volume to 100% it'll sound awful
-Volume and Walkman keys on the sides of the phone are flush with the phone which makes it hard to find/push if you're in the dark or if you're just trying to press them without looking.
-Speakerphone is nice but it could be louder. Stereo speakers would had been nice.
-BUG: The phone won't go back to the home screen after making a phone call and pressing numbers (as in when you call your voicemail and have to press 1 and 7 and 9 etc) I'd hang up and those numbers that I pressed during the phone call would not clear the screen.
-BUG: I downloaded Opera Mini on it, but I've come to realize that it will start slowing down as I navigate until it will completely freeze up. I'll try to download Opera Mini again to see if this fixes this issue.
I'm using this phone cuz I had to have an unlocked phone (roaming overseas) but as soon as I go back to the US in Jan; I'm selling it!
Not an W810I replacement
Overall this phone is decent but it doesnt come close to the W810i
The biggest problem i've seen with this phone is the reception. I've used and sold them and out of the 5 i sold last month four were returned with dropped calls, and i switched back to the W810 after about three days of the reception problems.
The phone is really feature packed and I like the way it's set up that why it gets a 3 and not a 1. If ericcson can fix the dropped call problem then this would be a great phone
I just heard a poor reception problem with W 610 due to antenna location at the bottom instead of top position. Due to this call drop prblem occurs. just read at this link-
please anyone can tell me if this phone have active screen mode for missed events like nokia? thanks
ringtone/alarm - good. better than nokia's. very loud
music player - with headset, superb. comparable to ipod. equalizer and mega bass options. very loud
music player - speaker only, fine, loud
with sufficient light - excellent for a 2 mp quality
with moderate to limited light - poor. the nightmode option does not seem to work
superb. for basic functions, with like, 3 hours music playing and occasional camera use, the battery could last for 4 days.
joystick - versatile
numeric keys - horrible. i have been using this unit for quite sometime and the size of the keys just cause me a lot of typo errors.
internal memory - 96 mb
m2 stick memory - 512 mb
browsing and applications:
response time is flash fast. great improvement from w810
