I would like to ask a ? What is the actual phone sound quality like? I currenlty have a nokia 6230 and looking to upgrade but I have to have a loud phone being hard of hearing.. Please can someone tell me is it loud and clear?

Hey does anybody know about how to improve the video quality on my phone? I've tried using both Xilisoft and ImTOO as 3GP (video codec h263, size 176x144, audio codec amr_nb) and MP4 (video codec mpeg4, size 176x144, audio codec mpeg4aac) both come out very blocky although the sound quality is ok and most importantly without any of those pauses. But I was wondering if there was another format that I should try or if there was another program, am I doing anything wrong? Thanks much! By the way does anybody know where to download more themes?

To Ian, your question about the memory capacity of the phone is interesting. Everyone has told you that 2GB is the limit, however - everyone would be wrong! I work at an optus store and know my phones quite well. The W800i can actually be expandable up to 4GB, however, on the same note - Sony haven't made that size card yet. There are 2GB on the market now retailing for about $299-$350. The 4GB cards are due for release with most suppliers around australia in Q1 or Q2 of 2006. The price of these are yet to be determined - expensive im guessing. But with that sort of memory capacity - there's no need for an IPOD. Hope this helped

has anyone successfully update their firmware using the Update Service?
Mine was all rite UNTIL the updating part. It just dont start. I dont if the problem is with the USB driver, but as i know i already installed it. The download of the latest firmware is smooth. I followed the instructions carefully during the updating part. but no luck. Help please.

i've switched to W800 (from p800, p900, n6230, p910i, 6230i, treo 650, N6680, and N70) the other day:
pros:
-clear and crisp pictures
-assigned picture or gif files/animations on contacts appears whenever you receive a call or sms/text messages (you have to look or buy the 3rd party application if your phone is nokia)
-you may assign mp3,wav,midi as message alert or ring tone.
-video,photo and music editor
-remote control (as presenter,media player or desktop)
-light
-code memo (notes with password)
-world time
-locks (sim or phone, manual or automatic)
-assign shortcuts for the nav key
-assign shortcuts for the play/pause button (either walkman, radio or start latest mp3)
-volume button, shortcut for phone status
-slideshow
-cool and solid design
cons:
-mono speaker but tolerable (assigned a wav tone,loud enough to hear). it is only disgusting when you play videos coz you have to put it close to your ear, grrr!
-no off for camera shutter sound
-experienced loosing mp3 files (transferred thru a memory card reader)when i used the pc suite...you should have a back-up copy in your computer or save a playlist in your phone.
-fingerprints on screen (wipe cloth pls!)
-fonts (white instead of black)
-certain lag when you open gif files but it is also tolerable
-no zoom when viewing pictures
-no available covers (use a silicon case instead now available in different colors)
i'm using a 1 gig mmc and it's workin great!
the reason why i've switched is that some of the applications malfunctioned upon reaching 366mb of memory...that means n6680 and n70 is only good for 256mb cards.

btw, w900 is already available...hmmmmn!

can someone help me out? i saw on this chinese site that this phone gives a 1 gb mem card but it says here only 512mb why is that?

guys, i wanna ask if it is safe to upgrade my firmware? what are the advantages and disadvantages? have you guys tried it? how will i know or check my current firmware version?
i have read all of the messages here, but i didnt find the answer that i was looking for.. to those who've already upgraded their firmware, could you guys give me any info? thanks, appreciate it!

u can buy this phone for $430 from buy.comwith free ship. best deal out there.
as far as trhe battery life, its outstanding. first if u want to listen to just mp3, just turn offthe phone and select the walkman mode. itll give u atleast 8 hrs of music time. thebatteryin general is outstanding. it regains up to 2-4% of batt. life when ur done using the phone.

i have a samsung d600 at the moment, but im verry sad of the battery live. it last a 3 houres if you listen to music. Has the sony ericsson w800 a good battery? does it last a few days??? how long can you listen to

hey dude,i read a forum from esato that on SE k750i, you can only store upto 100 messages max.. since k750i and w800i are identical, then i guess w800i can also hold upto 100 messages only.. too bad..

Hi all,
I have a very annoying problem. You know the top left corner that indicates the strength of the signal? sometimes it is a lil 'distorted' and it left a small blue color patch there which spoil the wallpaper. Have u all experience the same problem?

the reviews says that it can support upto 2 GB, so i guess it's true.. that's what the sony ericsson website also say..
not sure how many messages it can hold.. but if it will be besed on the phone's memory, that will be a lot..
don't worry, this phone is great!! you won't be disappointed..
