Yes, someone can listen to music while in places where phones are restricted. When you switch on the W800, there shows two options to select; 'Switch the Phone on' and 'Listen to Music'. If you select 'Listen to Music', the phone only switches on to 'WALKMAN" mode, it doesn't search for your GSM service provider. However, if you select to switch the phone on, you get the normal functions of 'phone' plus 'walkman'.

ok i just went on the UK O2 website and says the W800i will be available in August 2006! what the hell is that all about? you reckon its just a typo? i sure as heck hope it is!

i am 12 years old my dad is on contracted he gets a new phone every year beacause he has bad luck with flash phones he gives them to me, this cristmas comeing i am hopeing for a sony ericsson w800 does enybody know if i whold get this ecspensiv phone and i am in the u.k.

I`d say this phone is more than great!It has everything i need-most of all the mp3 player with a long lasting battery and the 2MP camera!I`ll buy it as soon as it is available in my country,`cos it also has a very reasonable prize;o)

Have anybody informatin about the release in Germany ? In our country we received nothing about the correctly date just romors: 15 July, end July, August/September .. If you have more informations please help us ;-)

same as k750 but 50 euros more? (info from k750 page, first review), i wouldnt pay an extra 50 euros so i can use the mp3 with phone off?
