Yes the sim is a bit hard to remove. I find i have to slid something under it to lift the end up a little. But then why would you want to remove the sim except to do software update.
I kinda struggled removing the sim, well i use my hand to lift the sim up (the cut corner) and then use the other hand to slide it out. I just got lucky to remove it. it might be hard for u. TOok my like 5 - 10 minutes lol
has anyone had problems with removing the SIM? i cant seem to remove it.. lolz.
I have a w800 would really like to upgrade to the w810i, i have one issue and i find this really annoying as every other phone has the type of function, i have plenty of sms on my phone that i have to keep, you can not transfer these to mem card or via bluetooth anything, you can only save to sim card and once there you do not have the option to save them back to the phone, can anyone here surgest something to do or a way around this, does the software support this or am i missing something,
I need help, that falshing problem with my camera, yeah i know about to update te firmware. But the problem is that i don't know where to get it, IM in australia. I know you go tot the ericsson site thingy. But i cant find it. Can someone pass me the link for it. Thanks
You ain't master, i know. It's me who told you abt xilisoft, in the pervious posts. But you own a w810i,which i don't. That makes you master!! lolz.
I own both version of the software. in version 2.x the video codec h623 gives wrong time code for the output file. in 3.1.5 it won't encode at al with h623 codec. Also got trouble in converting files to .aac
yea, pan and scan works. i think it wont allow to play the file which is encoded in 16:9 aspect ratio, maintaining it without stretching.
Have you tried .mp4 video files in your mobile? encode some in widescreen aspect and check it. their playback too failed with keeping the aspect ratio.
@Tangoman - Isn't that what the handsfree profile is for? The phone needs to be in handsfee profile for it to know it is to use automatic answering.
@Vince - It always says I have the latest.
Silent Mode incompatible with Automatic Answer?
Current Software: CXC1250316 R4CE012 000000
In the following situation I have found a problem with my 810i:
- HPM-70 headset plugged in and earbuds in.
- Silent Mode on (to enable the ring tone to be heard through the earbuds).
- Automatic Answer on.
- Receive call and ring-tone is heard through earbuds (as expected)
BUT...the phone does not Automatic Answer. It just rings till the caller gets my voicemail.
If, however, I turn Silent Mode off in the above scenario the call is Automatically Answered but I do not get the ring-tone through my earbuds.
How can I get the ring-tone through the handsfree/earbuds yet also have the phone Automatically Answer itself?
NB. The reason I have to set silent mode is to enable the ring-tone to come through the earbuds otherwise the phone itself rings but the earbuds are silent - no good in a noisy environment where, with the earbuds in, one would not hear the phone itself ringing.
@ bi g...First of all I apologize for confusing ppl about lithium-ion battery life. 100% agree with you...no need to drain as with today's battery technology, one can charge as many times without the need to drain. Read so many posts in here about w810i not having enough battery life, I had to convince ppl it's not true!! Again, sorry mate ;o)
@ Auz...with Xilisoft I am no expert but I have managed to sort the aspect ratio of a 16:9 Widescreen video file, by 'Cropping' and 'Panning' the original files in the video panel section. By trial and error, for a 16:9 file, use 10 or 20 in both Crop & Pan in the Top & Bottom section only. This way will give a perfect result for a 16:9 Widescreen 3GP file on your mobile. I have cropped n panned '10' T&B and there are no stretches or squeezed frames. BTW what version u got a 2.1.50 or 3.1.50? Hope this helped. If yes, you're welcomed, if not, shoot me, lol ;o)
@ Carbonize...just a quick note, did you by any chance updated your firmware again? I did'nt bother to check.
I do a lot of work online and check here about once a day unless I'm arguing in which case I visit more frequently.
With the phone switched off the battery will last for years. If you switch on on in music mode I suspect it would last 30 hours if not more.
If you go through my past posts you will find the exact url for the update software or just goto www.sonyericsson.com
can any1 give me sites for the upgrades of the se w810i software?
W800i has up to 30h playback if the phone is switched off.
Can W810i has up to 30h playback if the phone is switched off?
Please somebody tell me about it.
Thank you to jojokulit and bi g for their intelligent posts as they are a rare thing in here.
One feature I do like is that I can take my card out and pop it in my PSP to view the photos on a larger screen. Just a shame that the PSP does not recognise the music folder.
So you used xilisoft. gud. what aspect ratio do your 3gp files have? widescreen 16:9 or normal 3:4.? i got trouble in playing 3gp files with 16:9 aspect ratio in k700i. They all get stretched. so i can only play files with 4:3 aspect ratio in k700i. Do w810i can play the files with 16:9 aspect ratio as such without stretching?
which of the following has the best sound quality k750,w810,w900.i am planning to buy w810 but worried about its sound quality.anybody plz give me a solution and which phone to buy?thanks in advance for the advice
Why are so many people saying 'drain you battery before re-charging'. I haven't even bothered to check the specs but something tells me this phone does not use a NiMh or Ni-Cad battery (and we are not still living in 1991).
Li-Ion batteries can be charged whenever you want - don't waste your day checking if your phone is out of charge before giving it some juice cause it don't make a difference.
My old k700 [Li-Ion] has as good a battery life now as it did the day it came out of the box. My old aged nok3210 [NiMh]does not as i didn't bother running it flat before charging.
