Hahahahaha, to say that the design of 3250 is better really you are BLIND!!!! The twist design is stup*d and inconsistent to this phone, is very UGLY to tell the true.
W810 has a classical candybar design, all manufacturers including nokia have candybar phones, and is a lot more practical than twist design in a BRICK.
You are happy with your pixelated 2,13 inch display and with excellent video capturing of the brick 3250!!!! ohhh!! DVD quality!!!
For sure viperchild you make your own movies.
I dont have W810, i love my W800 but both phones built in the same plattform, the W800 is excellent phone, i had nokia brick and ugly 3650, and my experience with it and S60 are the worst, 3650 is the first and last nokia that i buy (very slow, frozen phone, etc), i never buy a nokia (probably except S40, symbian S60 NOT!!).
I always be happy with my SE phones, for me perfect phones with great quality and well sized.
And finally, final user decide his choice, if you like bricks with average quality in sound and camera, but you need buggy symbian and need break windows with a 1kg ugly brick go with 3250.
If you want great sound and camera quality, great headphones, well sized phone with fine display and classical design go with w810.
Go to references in reviewers sites in the web, in ALL says the superior of W810 over the brick, and this is the problem of viperchild, he says that this reviewers sites are SE fans, but only the reviews are objetive.
And for sure, 3250 is the FIRST BRICK with twistable mechanism, a innovative solution made by nokia (all rights reserved) hehehehe!
Who cares if its not a smartphone??? People who will buy the W810 are generally interested in the MUSIC capabilities, and partly the CAMERA capabilities. Dude.... thats why its called a walkman phone (with a cam)! Nokia generally is sturdy, long-lasting, but is NO MATCH for SE. I'm sorry, but its the truth.
Carbonize is right.... basically you need symbian software if your a businessman, and want to use it like a palmtop! Otherwise, the games and other software u get is just to fix the bugs nokia has (e.g. capturing fullscreen video in 6600). SE doesn't need crap like that. Hey... if ur so interested in symbian software go get urself a PDA! You cant compare those with this...
However, i have to say I like biggger screens as in the nokia 3250, but the screen resolution is smaller. Ultimately, everything looks worse.
Rock on SE!!
Hey Carbonize.Let me tell u 1st thing that it's a matter of personal choice. Its all on our personal choice whether to buy nokia, samsung or SE.And 2nd thing, why ru always crying "its for business man or sales rep etc. etc. " If u dont want any kinda smartphone & always want to say that its for businessman or sales rep. Then its clear that u want some kinda KidPhone !! Haha
I hav been a user for ericsson, motorola, samsung, nokia and now SE ... I hav to agree with all the SE fan that SE again hav done a fantastic job on this W810. The price in malaysia is a bit expensive comparing with the W800 and K750. However, am willing to wait for a little longer and will definitely getting this phone. I am just an average user but do enjoy mobile phone features and functions. But it has come to my notice (after using so many phones and features), it is up to the individual liking and usage. Yup, u may hav a 3G phone but r u using the function? But there is a possibility that the design is "desirable" and attracted us to buy. Again, up to the individual but as for me SE is my choice.
its a sexy phone in sony ericsson . Its the coolest one for boys as toys.....i just loved this cell phone.
ive never used a nokia 3250, but i just got my w810i in mexico and 4 hours with it is just enough to say im in love with this phone.
reading all the reviews made me thought it could be hard for the music file transfer so i took out the memory stick pro, inserted into my vaio laptop and just transfered the mp3 files into the memory stick, couldnt be easier, could it?
the 2mp camera, no words to describe it, took a pic of my parrots with the w810 and with my cybershot p10 (3.2mp) there was no big difference.
sound quality great,
mine came with the portable speakers which aint no 7 wonder but they work good,
the only thing i couldnt do is making the menu icons look in white with a black background (psp style), changed the theme but the icons didnt change, can anyone help me with this?
hmm... i brought tis phone yesterday.... i would like to ask u all bout... why the phone cant b on after i off it.....-.- need to plug of the remove the battery and put it again den it will start
Oh viperchild, 3250 is the best for sure, the best smartphone in the world (only in your tiny world).
40 tones, 64 or 72 tones are valid only for *.midi files, for mp3 ringtones are the same sound.
The W810 have a screen with 176*220 pixels in 1,9 inch, this mean that the pics look fine than in a 2,13 diagonal with 176*208 pixels of the 3250 brick, in 3250 the pics in the screen are pixelated and colour rendition in 3250 is worst than in w810.
Your famous visual radio in nokia is a looser versus RDS radio in SE W810.
In terms of design, 3250 is the most ugly and brickest phone that i´ve ever seen, to say the true the design department of nokia fail to nokia fans with the design of 3250 brick, is really UGLY!!!
PTT is an advantage in 3250, but in my case i dont use it, i dont need it.
Buggy symbian S60 3rd is an advantage???
For the new version of the mediocre S60 old aplications arent compatible.
Quality sound in SE walkman phones are far superior to nokias express music series.
Quality camera in SE phones totally beat to nokias ones in all aspects.
And if you are happy with nokias 1st place in market share you remind that nokia gain market share in budget segment, and for shure 3250 dont sell more than w810, 3250 simply is a mediocre bulky phone with the worst design.
Hi again. Is there a possibility with w800 to open the new equalizer theme from w810? The screen pixels are same. Is there any oporunity of that? Tnx
How come the only person here that has a major problem with the w810i doesnt even own one?
As for me, i used to be a Nokia owner and love my new SE as do strangers on the street/bus/restaurants who actually stop and stare at my good-looking phone!!
Viperkid, you're the only one here horribly complaining about the phone. Other people mention the bugs, say their opinon quickly and go on about their business. We understand that the phone has a few bugs, but none of them are going to make you terminally ill, or kill you. They will not hunt you down and kidnap you. We understand that you are very biased with your opinions about the W810. We understand that you seem to hold some sort of grudge against SE also. We understand your anger. Please take it elsewhere though, thank you.
You post a news story about Nokia and say it's why Motorola and Samsung are beating Sony Ericsson? What a strange world you live in. As to your "only 40 channel polyphony" most people use MP3s for ringtones now days so that doesn't even matter. And most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a 64 and a 40 channel melody anyway.
"unable to save 3 office nos, 2 mobile nos, 2 home nos etc" - Why the hell would you want to?
"No visual radio" - Wel duh given that visual radio is a Nokia invention and is not that widely supported. One station here in the UK supports it according to www.visualradio.com and only one in the States.
"not speaker independent on voice dialling/memo" - Translate that into something that makes sense and we can debunk that as well.
"tiny screen" - A smaller screen with a higher resoultion means a sharper images.
"Not symbian OS" - Hell thats a good reason to get this phone.
As to the rest of your posts I don't have the time to try and translate them into something resembling sense. Maybe I will ask my 9 year old to try and explain your posts to me.
Did I ever state it has no problems? No I said mine has no problems. Don't try and put words into my mouth. As Mick has demonstrated this phone is so good people are willing to put up with the few bugs they have found.
Yes...lots of complaints, mainly about the same type of thing, and for me, minor issues.
I still love the phone and think it's the best one i've ever had (which makes sense really as I don't tend to upgrade to worse phones).
But I accept that the phone is not perfect still have some work to do with the firmware before I will be 100% happy with it.
wow, MANY COMPLAINTS!
my only complaint is the phone volume is not as loud as it used to be, even at max volume its hard to hear
Arj: (AMEN ur IRRITATED!)
when u change themes, the shortcut buttons revert to the default settings. Im having a DILEMMA as to surrendering it or retaining it as the bug is not so big a deal anyways.
Mick from oz:
my mate who bought the same phone has got the white screen of death..
re flashing light..out of the 4 of us, 3 of us have the flashing light.
v poor quality headphones in comparison to the quality of the phone itself.camera excellent but flashing light is terrile.sound rather muffled.battery life ok but to be honest wish id stuck with a nokia as keypad is much better
i`m fedup with the annoying camera light flashing, and the volume output at Maximum is NOT loud enough
Well I've now returned mine. I tried to use the handsfree last night and even at medium call volume the speaker crackled
"the flash light blink is not a bug....maybe SE design that to save batery....when u take a pic it flash...and the pic look good .." U
Umm...if you think that's not a bug, then you have very low standards. Why on earth would anyone want a constantly flashing light in there eyes when taking a pic ? And if you use it as a torch (which I used to do oon my old SE)..then it's just plain annoying. It's only a small issue for me as i don't really like camera phones and i don't need a torch that often, but lets not start making ridiculous statements about it.
Awesome... fantastic phone. Well, at least until the Nokia 6233 comes out & blows everything else away!
Well I've now returned mine. I tried to use the handsfree last night and even at medium call volume the speaker crackled - I then made the same call at near full volume on my K750 and the phone was fine, same network too. No idea if it's an isolated fault on mine or just a lower quality speaker.
Got no idea which phone I'm gonna go for now as I really did like the w810 but I'm determined not to go down the route of the k750 with 5 firmware flashes (the latest still has a bug) - especially not on a new phone.
I know the flashlight may seem like a small fault (and to some it will be) but try taking a picture in relatively low light and see how you cope with the constant flashing - not mention people who actually use it as a flashlight :s
Oh well...maybe if Amstrad made phones...:p @ SE
