I was told cingular will carry this in late april, early may.I have not heard anything from t-mobile, which I have =(
dis fone is great. does anyone know if it phone will go down to about $400 by the end of the year.
To, James i am getting them for the same price so which one do you think is the best?
that external flash module seems to have like 5 more leds to be even brighter, and is spaced apart from the 'shutter' far enough mm's to supposedly not capture 'red-eye'. the phone itself has two leds and is bright enough for me and most close up night conditions
just like with the k750i i had, when in camera mode, just press the * key and it turns on the flash light, then when u lightly press the shutter button it autofocuses, then when u press it harder the flash brightens up (just when you think it's bright enough) and the camera captures the image.
just like a cybershot, except that the light is manually turned on before taking the picture, medium sized 640x480 fine images are captured in a second, and youre ready to take another the next second. pretty amazingly fast for a camera phone. i bet the cybershot k800 and k790s will be even better..
To Javier (Uruguay):
When..?? August 15, 2007 at 5:05pm is when they will do the review for this phone.....
Dont ask a retard question. We dont know when they will do it. When they get a phone, they will do their testing and they will post it...
Does the light on this phone actually flash when taking a picture or does it just turn on and back off to "resemble" a flash..??
According to the manual, it turns on to brighten up a dark room for the picture and turns off when the camera is off.. It says nothing about this light working as a flash..
That is why they make that external flash module..
I rang o2 at the beginning of the week and mid-week (and a few times last week) asking to upgrade to w810i, kept getting same response..to call back in a few days time. I suppose I'll just be patient and wait guess there's no rush since I've still got a phone to use. I did speak to one advisor to ask about prices and they said for me it'd be free...then when I rang again the other advisor told me that they won't know until the phone is released...I'm hoping the former is correct on this one.
Regarding the blank screen vs. a clock on the W800i. Is there an option under Settings->Display->Sleep Mode Clock to change this?
ok the phone arrived this morning, i put the battery in and cover on and went to work, went to put sim in and i cant for the life of me get the battery cover off, any special trick to it?
Just been on the phone with O2 and apparently the new customers and upgrades are two entirley different systems. The new customers system has been updated to include thw w810 but the upgrade system hasn't. So that means new customers can order but upgrades have to wait til monday. A pain in the arse but there you go!
Ordered the phone off the O2 Website last Thursday. Pleased to say it arrived by courier this morning. That was ordered online via the website.
The phone is excellent, two hours in and I love it!
this phone is being offered on www.plemix.com for about $500 right now.
and yes other sony ericssons have a standby clock while this firmware version on the w810i doesnt, it's blank! i dont like it!!! other than that the phone is great, many buttons to navigate with.. the buttons feel great when pressed too..
the equalizer theme looks awesome too in the menu screen..
