i've had the W880 approx 3weeks, it is a brilliant little phone, previously had the Samsung E900 touch sensitive phone which in my opinion takes some beating (bar poor the battery life), however, within just 3weeks of having the W880, my opinion is now changed 100%! The sound quality is brilliant and if not suitable for everyone, the option of purchasing speakers is available, the battery life is good, i use my phone for approx 2-3hrs talk time per day and various times throughout the day listeneing to music. No need to have doubts about this phone, looks good, easy to use, great features - all round winner!
Hi V
Read someone's comments a while back about theme and that it has one line. I think it was called Citybeat. I downloaded it from Lasyk. Its definitely not one line. One person was lucky to have one line, one or two other's said the menu looked the same as with other themes.
Does anyone know what is the name of the theme (the 2nd page of the review by GSMArena 'No catch, plain thin'), where the menu icons are in one line???? It looks like Orbit, but not quite. I got this phone from Vodafone, but looks like this theme was not pre-installed...
i predict,W880 having a weak "ringer"hardware component,so,its going to be a problem for a "walkman" user
What about battery Consumption
I heared that cannot stay more than 15 hr if you speak 2 hr !!!!!!!!
ple any1 tell me about the sound through the ex speaker its loud or not.ple ple,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
someone earlier says shud i buy n6300 or this,,well id go for the w880 because u are garanteed better battery life as s/e are renowned for it and most persons are falling out with nokia because of bugs and poor plastic casings,,even n95 is poorly made but copme and join the new group of fones emerging using thinness as the speciallity so easy to fit in pocket ,,YET,, good battery ane a superb specification list
the sound through the speaker is a disaster, tinny and ridiculous.I use the cube mini spčakers (numebr 60 I think ) and headphones, always.
hey is the lopudspeaker sound of w880i is better than w850i?plzzzzzzzzzzz tell me soon
Mahir, do not know why so many people telling it isn´t a good phone. I have the phone 2 months made alover 25 hours calls with it. use it for e-mail. stored 317 mp3 on it and believe me it is not a good phone, it is a FANTASTIC phone
hello, well i am in a dilema, i cant seem 2 decide wetha to get the SE W880 or the Nokia 6300...i am leaning towads the SE because of how slim it is...but honestly is it a good phone????.
i got screen protector for my w880 on the bay .. there is also krusell leather cases too the best case one can buy ... i would think the zip on the side is the thickness off this first class handset... sony ericsson rule...
I have had lots of phones and scanning round the forums read backlash post earlier as ive had n80,,n73 and 6630 and 6680 and so on and left the bandwagon to get samsung d900..Ive had smartfones since n3650 but fed up with bugs,, weight,, poor baterry life and so on..i know this is s/e site but it seems that a lot more are leaving the smartfone race for these new thourough breads WHICH coincidently are far more advanced than they used to be and can do most things anyway thanks to java and an impressive speclist.Have not seen this fone yet but it must look really thin as d900 is 3mm thicker than this but its on list as next fone..good stuff
Great handset, great function, big problem...Bluetooth. This handset has some problems when using to pair with Bluetooth devices. The connection constantly fails and when it does connect the handset freezes completely to the point where you need to remove the battery to remedy. if you don't need Bluetooth this phone is great bit if you do..............beware
To Grace.
Dear Grace, do not believe the people, this mobile is really great
too pity that there is no FM radio...by the way..can't use front camera to take photo???if can use, that will be great..
This phone looks great! But how come have so many ppl say it's not good? I wan to get it really soon... SE rocks!
SeF:
i think 262k colors will be replaced with 16M colors sooner or later- just as what happens with other features, there's always an upgrade. so i guess they'd have to come up with a better battery then? :-)
W880 rocks. i have the k800 and the P990 and i am telling you wow wow wow the W880 makes up for whatever it lacks by the sleek looks and dimension it has
disappointed SE fan:
you need 16M colors?
-then look at any samsungs there, do they need to have 16M colors to make it's display very good? and do you know the reason why nokia phones with 16M colors runs out of battery so fast? 262K colors are enough, even windows mobiles have 65Ks but they have good images in their display. i think SE just need to increase the brightness and contrast in more vivid setting rather than increasing colors which causes it's major letdown for the consumers who don't have time charging everyday. before you post something, be more objective so you wont fall disappointed reporting problem and again blaming SE for what they do.
