I bought an unlocked W890i for use with my AT&T wireless account. Can anyone tell me what settings, etc. to enter to get full usage of the AT&T network, e.g., internet, etc.? I am not very sophisticated on cellphone technology, so keep it simple! AT&T doesn't support this phone, and their settings for the W810i (which I thought would be similar) are not compatible. Thanks!
Anonymous, 19 Sep 2008this phone wAS ok at first. BUt after a while it utrns off on you and freezes and then turns ... morei had same problem where my phone would randomly freeze and then reboot/switch off, but about 2 weeks ago i updated the firmware and now the phone runs great. so like the other dude said: try updating its firmware.

Anonymous, 19 Sep 2008this phone wAS ok at first. BUt after a while it utrns off on you and freezes and then turns ... moreYou may want to upgrade the firmware of your phone if it's turning off and on.
Also, try tech support. SE tech support might even repair the phone if it's defective.
this phone wAS ok at first. BUt after a while it utrns off on you and freezes and then turns off, if you want a music phone turn to samsung not sony ericsson, the z collection of sony ericsson is good.
You guys say the video recording is at QVGA(30fps). This doesn't seem right. It's actually QVGA @ 15fps when tested which is a lot lower in quality ![Actual test results shows video at QVGA resolution and 14.65 fps]
Anonymous, 16 Sep 2008are the butons smal and are thy easy to type on?Yes, the w890i keys are small especially for those who have big fingers, like me.
It's good for dialing but Terrible for texting! Many people here and other online forums have noted this also!
The media control dialpad above the keypad is also TOO small especially the left and right sides. SE should have made the dialpad bigger.
It's also very frustrating to use when using the media player especially when trying to use dial for Rev/Fwd.
The worst part is actually when you use text mail because the keys are so small that it's easy to make mistakes in typing!
Oh... one more thing...
Too bad the "unlock/lock" feature requires the user to press "*" then "Unlock" keys instead of just press and hold the "*" key!
Dani, 16 Sep 20087-10 Days of battery life!!!!!!!!!!!
im going to want the BST-40 Battery
and ok 'E' is... moreThe BST-40 battery can be bought online.
The battery creates a very "slight" bulge where the M2 card is inserted and is barely noticeable esp. if phone is in a case.
eBay is the place where I buy my batteries.
Trustworthy??? It depends.
Some batteries come in "original" SE plastic containers so I think it's "authentic". Some do not. Those that don't, I generally avoid buying from seller in the future. Most batteries are sold from dealers in Asia.
The battery cost depends on the seller. Usually I can pick on up for about $10-15 USD on eBay. If you buy from SE directly, it's lists about ~$65 USD.
I've used the media player a couple of times but use the phone primarily as.. a phone. Keep it on for ~7-10 days, literally, between charges. Now, when using the media player (~2 hours/day), I still get about ~5-6 days of life which is still very good =:)
Keep in mind that I cycle my battery, also.
I wouldn't mind switching over to 3G (just to try it) IF it was available by T-mobile in States but it's Not (yet) and no need for it! Rather keep it on Edge to conserve battery life anyway and the reception is good.
Don't have any issues with the Edge network in US since I'm primarily using it for phone calls. Only reason to switch to 3G is to use internet (which I don't so don't care).
Kumail Sultan Awan, 17 Sep 2008Can any body tell me about Its mic, speaker and signal Mic - is good, people can hear me clearly when speaking
