i dont think the n80 will be just $600 (£3oo+) when the n90 was released at over £500 in the uk $900-$1000) this if what you are saying viperkid is a reflection of what s.e's prices will be like next year then the new n80 and others will probably be around that price and I seriously don't think the n80 will be out 1stQ 2006 because the n91 was anounced 1stQ 2005 and is still not out untill early next year s.e MOSTLY anounce models 2-3 months before they are available I AM NOT CALLING YOU A LIER but i have lost faith in nokia because of their unfair marketing to mobile users
the price of W900i might be a clear indication of Sony Ericsson's prices for their upcoming models next year, if u'll follow the pattern, most likely their 3mpx or higher camera 3G phones may cost around a whooping & silly $1200!
for me $940 price tag is very unreasonable for this W900i! so what if it has 400MB+ internal memory & it is 3G ready, its not worth it... for that price SE did not even include WLAN in this W900i which makes it absurd! if N80's price approximates from websites like infosyncworld, gsmArena, etc.. are correct, approximately you can get N80 (when released 1Q 2006) for just $600 only compared with $940 for W900i! N80 has even more to offer like 3mpx cam, WLAN, uPnP, S60 OS, higher resolution screen & video capture/playback, now that's what i call very reasonable!
a dun tink de w900 shud b compared 2 n80 etc coz it iz owt dis year an shud onli b compared 2 fones owt dis year to say wot iz beter dis iz de benchmark 4 nx year so de new n-series fones an new s.es samsungs etc now no wot 2 aim 4
Claudio every UMTS phome is capable of showing TV chanels, but that depending of you UMTS provider
hmmmm, more megapixels doesn't mean the picture quality sure good... those who heard about Xcute DV2 should know the 6 megapixel is a total rip off~ it's just the title "6 megapixel" that makes it attractive~
hmm.. i felt like SE is trying not to show off for a while, whereas nokia is already showing all the have for next year, yet we only got P990 --___--.
However, i believe that SE will be able to catch up, if not take over NOKIA, by july next year. The fact that W900 is already release this year means that this fone belongs to this year, not next year. I think not far from now they will soon announce the 3MP fone, perhaps with optical zoom? and of course better resolution---> which i think will be the successor of K750.
the 8 MP camera phone model name is SPH V8200
here is the link:
The pricing of US$950 for this phone is ridiculous. So what if it is a 3G phone and has 470MB of memory?
Could anyone tell me if the W900 is capable of receiveing and showing TV programs and channels like CNN for example??
I like this fone, but i feel it becomes too long when opened.
i am not intrested in camera.. (i knw its good)
But i hate its length.. i'll wait and watch the n91 (if too costly then chuk that tooo)
remains w550 and 3250. Dont need S60 either
SsSa (no name)
if money is not an issue, maybe consider W900 but it does not have Symbian OS but has good camera & excellent music functions otherwise go for N70 bcoz it has Symbian OS, means wider compatibility for software/apps downloads for business/work, games and besides d price is juz almost half only against W900i! :)
i forgot the price is around $940!
oops, sorry, correction what i meant was:
SE must be kidding for overpricing this model!
"SE must be kidding for overpricing the price!"
(the price of W900i really surprised me that it really made me somewhat confused coz previously sum1 posted dat d price of W900i will be around $650 only!)
checked prices at WElectronics & Worldex, all i can say is:
too expensive (or as i may say very, very, very, very expensive!) for a phone having only 2mpx CMOS sensor! (if they include 2GB mem stick, then maybe i can say W900i's price is reasonable). SE must be kidding for overpricing the price! i'd rather buy Nokia 3250 (when available 1Q 2006) or SE K750i phone ($400 approx) and Panasonic Lumix DMC LX1 digicam ($500 approx) for a total of approx $900++ than this overpriced W900i!
Panasonic LX1 specs:
-8.4 Megapixel 16:9 aspect CCD
-28mm wide 4x optical LEICA DC lens
-MEGA O.I.S.(Optical Image Stabilizer)
-Joystick-operated manual control
-Large 2.5” LCD monitor (207k pixels)
-Industry’s first 16:9 aspect Wide VGA moving image recording
-manual, auto, white balance plus presets
-Raw, TIFF and JPEG recording modes
-Manual exposure and focus options
-1/2000th to 60 sec shutter speeds
as mentioned above it can offer you up to 848 x 480 (10 / 30 fps) (16:9) video capture/playback resolution with sound! and besides LEICA lenses are way better than Carl Zeiss lenses (for me).
HK's presale on W900i:
i think this phone price will drop after x'mas maybe 100usd from it original price and maybe 200usd to 350usd after chinese new year because a lot phone model will come out next year.
Yo long time no c due to.. EXAM.. anyway its FINALLY OVER.. ok back to my topic.. this phone is good i heard from my friend its camera = better than nokia definately + it has clear video recorder.. as his friend bought it already :] so SUPPORT SE!
