My W960i has the old Firmware and Flash Light is not available for video recording.
W960i is easy to use. You just have to get used to it. The first time you use this phone, it might seem difficult to you to use it. But its easy man.
To update W960i and many other SE phones, you have to go to SE's site and download the Update Service Programm.
The Firmware Version of a phone can be found in a particular menu. For example, to check whats the version of W960i firmware you have to go "More - Status" while in standby.
And its true that this phone is a little bit laggy. I use about 5Gb and the phone speed is just like when it was empty. It slows down though after disconnecting it from a PC. It just needs some time to return to normal mode, because the 8Gb are used by the PC.
"Main Menu - Tools - Cortrol Panel - Device - Backlight"
and then "Handheld On" and "Car Holder On" and mark the "Power Save Enabled".
2. Yes if you drop dis phone...
I have the phone 4 months and only 1 small scratch from the stylus!
3. Go for W960i, if ya want great sound quality with bangin' Bass and NOT only treble like Nokia...
n95 is a better music player because...
1)it has a 3.5mm jack (bloody useful)
3)it has a digital radio
+im not lying when i say the music battery life is pretty good on the n95 (if u just leave it running in the background)
i dnt see why any of the walkman brand are better music phones than regular phones anyway.
sony ericsson w960i have double camera? right?
and another question,,,am jst fraid that its sensitive to scratch, and falls in the ground by accident...
i neede to know if there is any problems with this phone because i think its better than nokia n95,cuz i jst care about the music performance..
i need your help as soon as possible
was wondering if you could help me with a little problem i'm having with my phone
when i'm viewing video, the screen dims and goes blackand i would have to tap the screen again to brighten it up.
i've tried with settings but can't find anything...it didn't previously happened
any help would be great.

Sorry im miss every comment and diss over here!!!!!!!!!
Whatz up in this side?
Still in war with tha N95(8gb)?
just a quick question for u all. im thinkin abt buying this fone.. now i hv never used a symbian type before and im not a very tech savvy person when it comes to fones.
now is the overall application/software installed in this fone easy to use for a average person ?
and when u guys talk abt old firmware/new firmware.. now where do u get a new firmware installed frm? and how do i know if i hv the old firmware or new one installed in my fone since i havent bought one yet ?
and last but not least.. i heard frm sumbody that the overall speed of teh software is kinda slow since the memory gets used up.. as in the fone lags? is that true?
would really appreciate if somebody could help me answer those questions
New firmware is working super, thanks for your helping in the issue. The new game SSX 3 included in new firmware it is very nice.
Pl .send any other good game for me.
I got a question for all the people on the old firmware, wasn't there an option for turning on the light when recording video. I just today noticed that with this new firmware it doesn't have that function, or they moved it somewhere alse, which I am 100% was before.
Meant to add, do it from the file manager, rather than the music player
U can mark tracks by ticking the check-box. then, when you've marked all the ones you wanna add, go to 'more' then 'add to' then select the playlist...
how do i put songs into playlists? the only way i figured out is by adding them one by one. can anyone help me?
From the File Manager select the file you want to hide and then "More - Properties" and mark the option "Hidden"
To restore your hidden files, you have to install a different File Manager, like X-Plore (www.dotsis.com
With my N81 i found that reason why it froze and had to be rebooted was due to the 3rd party taskmanager (Handy Taskman) that i was using was some how conflicting with the phone's software so i deleted it and got JBaktaskman and it doesn't freeze that much any more.
You must watch what you install in your phone.
At the end of the day most if not ALL phones with an Operating System freeze and reboot mainly because of our heavy use and the demanding OS.
My W960i some times freezes when I exit the video player and I have to reboot. But my phone is not updated... The new firmware fixes many things and I hope this bug.
Ma n*gga D.R.E what up?
I'm glad to hear dat tha phone becomes faster after the update! I can't wait to upgrade my AK-W960 lol
