Elcrocodilio, 17 Jul 2008Yow maestro.thanx so much man.u rock.im serious.i backed up ma sms and imonna flash ma phone t... moreWelcome dude. Sure you can use ur fingers for almost everything... very rarely do you have to use the stylus like for instance using the task manager. you can change tracks easily using the volume control keys. you know keeping them pressed takes you to the next track.. sure i've heard many people complain about the user interface. but hey its a symbian phone and there's bound to be some differences. but dont worry, u'll surely get used to it. it will take a week, maybe more but you have to be patient. and believe me, once u get used to it u'll never go back to the d-pad navigation. the touch screen is especially useful when browsing...
and some people think its slow.. but its by no means laggy. sure it takes a second to open messaging but its not that bad as they claim really. so just go ahead.. it has so many pros that u'll hardly notice the cons. i'm sure u'll enjoy it...
Yow maestro.thanx so much man.u rock.im serious.i backed up ma sms and imonna flash ma phone tonight.u kno that was like the only option that nokia has over Se and now it doesnt exist.thanx.one more thing man.im guessin dat u have the w960.i have a w850 and i love it.but i wanted to get the w960 for the 8gb and touch screen.i had my mind made up.until i ran this phone simulator on SE web site and i didnt like it all that much.the interface isnt common SE interface which has soul and lovely to use.i donno, different isnt always bad tho.can u tell me more bout the interface.2ndly do u have to use that touch screen pen.coz im lookin for sth more manual u kno.like changin a song while drivin i can do it on my w850 withn one hand usin buttons.it shud b easier with touchscreen.but with the pen u gotta use both hands which sucks.so can u use ur fingers to use touch screen?
i think @nick is always right, see here in mine country n95 8gb is of 30000 bucks and w960 31000bucks,so i am confused at price of w960 which got nothing in comparison of n95 8gb lets face the truth,n95 8gb got dual processar of 332 mhz as compared to single processar 208 mhz of w960.n95 is sybian series 9.2 whereas w960 is 9.1,no edge,no hsdpa, even gprs of n95 is 32 class and its edge too, wifi with upnp support, bigger screen, better resolution, better camera, better video recording, better gaming, better internet,tv out, better to watch videos and even then u people said that n95 8 gb sucks that god knows ur problem, just because of touchscreen, better headphone, and good music interference doesnt make w960 stand in n95 8gb leage i confess that uiq is more eyepleasing than series 60 but in functions and softwares support series 60 rulessss,SE has kill uiq how many uiq phones SE has produced not more than 10 or 12 i think and nokia is leader because it brought more and more series 60 products in market.
Yow man.thanx 4 da reply.wat is dat (my phone browser) xactly.do i download it or wat.coz i have windows vista.
I only have a nokia phone browser and SE file manager.
Holla back at me
if you're absolutely insistant on buying a sony ericsson phone, then the w960 is the only one actually worth considering.
every other se phone just is pathetic.
this one is their best.
Itz a vry good phone with symbion os
The big sreen gives more comfort
Bt itz slightly bigger in size
W880 is better than w 960

Anonymous, 15 Jul 2008Why do you insist on bringing something up from a discussion that was dead 2 weeks ago? When ... moreYou are wrong again. Just go to wikipedia and look at the causes of n64's less popularity. N64 failed because it used older cartridge technology. And its hardware was not gond enough compaired to ps1. Your comment makes it clear why you support se over nokia. You do this because you dont have enough knowledge on modern technology.
I've been reading a lot of 'UIQ is dead' discussions and all here..some people are quioting symbian-freak too...I don't care what they say, but UIQ is very much Alive!!!!
and the UIQ developer community too says so!!!
Here's what was posted on their site:
"Following the announcement of Symbian Foundation we would like to provide our community with some further information.
There are still a significant number of UIQ phones in the pipeline. We will continue supporting developers as before, and this site will remain operational for the foreseeable future as a valuable resource for Symbian OS / UIQ developers.
The one change we will make, is to close the option to purchase Premium Membership. You will still be able to purchase, and use, individual support tickets as before."
So..there are still more UIQ phones in the pipeline.....and UIQ is going forward!!!
Whats the difference talking about the wifi? I see some have 802.11b/g this one has 802.11b...is it all the same or what?
Anonymous, 15 Jul 2008Firstly w800 is not a smartphone and it does not have a significant amount of inbuilt memory. ... moreWhy do you insist on bringing something up from a discussion that was dead 2 weeks ago? When UIQ is officially dead, no linger produced, no longer supported by anybody etc etc, all that'll happen is we'll get a new OS. And if UIQ's as poor as you imply then surely that's a good thing, right?
And as for the 6681, all the reviews I can find seem to state that it was a good enough phone for what it was, but wasn't really anything special. Who cares that it sold more? The original Sony Playstation sold way more than Nintendo's N64, but there can be no doubt that the N64 was technically the better console.
So the N91 had a bigger built in memory. Didn't the reviews state that because of the HDD technology they used, they probably shouldn't have bothered...?
Revenant, 15 Jul 2008Well, if that's the way you wanna play - SE released W800 before Nokia released the N91. And ... moreFirstly w800 is not a smartphone and it does not have a significant amount of inbuilt memory. Nokia launched 6681 during that time and it sold much more than w800. So back then, nokia was the victor just like now. And dont forget the uiq issue. Symbian-freak.com is also saying that uiq is dead.
Anonymous, 15 Jul 2008W950 did not even had a camera. At longtime before that nokia had n91. So who is ahead?Well, if that's the way you wanna play - SE released W800 before Nokia released the N91. And the W800 got much more positive reviews. So now tell me - who's ahead...?

Do I have to install the Sony software on my computer to be able to transfer tracks to it?? I have a Mac, and I guess I won't be able to install the software on it(?) Please help as I really want this phone!
