ok first i wana ask is this phone has X-Pict lik k850 and w960 and w890 nd other new phones.... does it hav the same amazing usb sped lik w960.... is the camera dull lik w960 or awsome lik in w890... is it scratched easily... if the flip nice and firm or feels lik itl fal off soon...

Although I agree with the 3.5mm jack, the point is that the adapter is much more convinient. The phone is supposed to be a phone and a music player. If you want to use your own headphones with the adapter you can, but if you had the 3.5mm jack you could not use a microphone cable and your headphones simulataneously. If you use the adapter which comes with ALL Walkman phones, then you can use your own headphones and answer phone calls at the same time without having to switch headsets. BTW, the phone was just voted the best sounding mp3 player of any on the market by an independent German test house. iPod incidentally was number 6.

I'd like to add that a 3.5mm headphone jack would be a bonus. But it was never the deciding factor for me.
I would most likely be using bluetooth headphones via a2dp anyways, I don't like being tangled up with cords.

Glad to see I'm not the only one that would prefer SE to include an actual 3.5mm port in their Walkman phones. Many other users and phone reviewers on other websites have addressed similar thoughts!
Not ALL SE phones include the adapter headsets but appears that the Walkman, W, series do.

This is a nice phone, but much of the hype is gone since it was shown in February. I've been on preorder since May, but now it's been pushed back to August. Given Sony's release schedule, this phone will most like be out in October-November. Hopefully there is an international model that includes HSDPA for the US.

I never said anything about ALL SE phones having the adaptor, I said all WALKMAN phones. Might help if, in the future, you actually read what you're about to criticize...

Wasn't the SE W960i hyped as being the ultimate Walkman phone?
Most of us know what a dead duck that phone turned out to be. The W960i Walkman's sound quality was disappointingly average.
How do we know the W980i will be no different when it finally arrives?
