guys dont pick this phone coz it is suppose to be an upgrade from the w960i. but actually we cant call it a real upgrade coz many super fetures seen on w960i is not on dis phone like the dual led flash,touchscreen,wifi or wlan,autofocus and also the image quality on the camera is not as superior as w960i. the only new feature is fm transmittor.both the phones look good in their own way the w960i is more radical and executive looking while w980i has a more sporty appearence

@Jody

It took the W960i 4-5 months to get to South Africa. W980i will only be released to the world in Q3 so i'm expecting it to reach South Africa around xmas time, but I could be wrong - depends on Vodacom, Cell-C, MTN, Virgin marketing.

To someone who typed this " ok! this is the point dude not all phones of SE will swtich first to VGA before you can change the digital zoom and SE created a VGA for all purpose bec. for example if you want to change the color of your phone that is 65k and your phone has a VGA, VGA can changed the color of your phone more than 16 million color, you can use the VGA to changed it and not either one of NOKIA phones can do that bec. they do not have VGA..."

my answer: speak english please! i don't understand what you mean. Do you even understand the terms you are using? i am also SE fan btw.

"how come you cannot zoom in SE megapixel phone and have to switch to VGA mode for you to use the zoom features in the camera while all other phones i know of (nokia,samsung,motorola,etc) can zoom the camera regardless if they are VGA or megapixel camera? Any SE fanatics want to answer this question?"

Answer: I personally think that digital zoom is completely worthless. And i think this is a good decision that SE has ever make. Digital zoom only make the quality worse. They should have started to put optical zoom instead.

Sony Ericsson phones may be great but their customer care is the worst.Infact so worst that they are making me wait for 5 to 6 months for replacement of my dead unrepairable set.

The FM Transmitter seems to be a good feature to be added. Other than that I don't see a reason why w960i is not better.
