Sony Ericsson phones may be great but their customer care is the worst.Infact so worst that they are making me wait for 5 to 6 months for replacement of my dead unrepairable set.

how come you cannot zoom in SE megapixel phone and have to switch to VGA mode for you to use the zoom features in the camera while all other phones i know of (nokia,samsung,motorola,etc) can zoom the camera regardless if they are VGA or megapixel camera? Any SE fanatics want to answer this question?

this phone also have the shake control feature and motion sensor and stereo speakers
and all this and he is half of W960 size so i guess they both good but w980 seems a
litlle better

The FM Transmitter seems to be a good feature to be added. Other than that I don't see a reason why w960i is not better.

This phone is built-in for MUSIC only and there's a 8Gb internal memory for this phone, enough for you to download all the music you wan't and this phone has a loud speakers...

amazing music phone.
but it could have had a music playbacktime of upto 25 hours just like the w610.
which is better than ipods.

This is the best looking Sony Ericsson since the gorgeous V800/Z800 clam. Great specs, great looks, and great UI as usual; another winner from SE. :-) I can't wait for Q3 release!

what I think special abt this phone is the 'FM Transmitter', 8gb memory, walkman phone, 3.15mp (which is already good for a phone camera, althought some people wants higher mp's)

w980i won't be a hit. it's an expensive phone, and the features are not that jaw-dropping so as to convince old and new markets to purchase one. clamshells are not that cool lately and some people would prefer sliders instead. the dimensions and weight of w980i does not make it very handy. it's actually a bit bulky for a music phone. i do have a w880i and what really matters to me in owning a walkman phone is the size and music quality.
