mad men, 19 Aug 2011the camera is MUCH WORSE than X10, exmor R is just a marketing trick. Use the 'compare photo' ... morexmor really works.due to digital censor ,it creates a litte noise in the picture.
I have been using the Arc for about 4 months now. The chrome finish on the keys and the sides are peeling off. Anyone else seeing this issue? My usage has been moderate.I was planning to contact the SE support team, however thought I will check in the forum once.
the camera is MUCH WORSE than X10, exmor R is just a marketing trick. Use the 'compare photo' tool here in gsmarena and see for yourself, go to color poster. The details are very bad (vs.X10 or any other 8MP high-end phones, even vs. IP4)and sharpness decreases dramatically at the edges. I wanted to buy the Arc but after some researches about this exmor R I realized how bad it actually is. What a shame for such beautiful phone.
Updated to the new software from Sony Ericsson`s website which is great but it deleted a bunch of ringtones from the phone which I frequently used. How do I get my favourite ringtones backÉ
yehey software update is available now in uk.. xperia arc rocks... now with xloud and other cool updates.. simply love this phone..
Is there any way to update it by only using mass storage mode????
After two weeks using the Arc, I can say the following:
1. The phone looks great!
2. It feels OK but nothing close to an iPhone 4
3. No front faced camera (secondary)
4. Picture / Video quality is good but not close to that of an 8MPixel camera
5. Voice quality good
6. 2G/3G/Any Data connection (including WiFi) good
7. Battery life... If one uses all the features of this phone, specially data connectivity with push email and all, will be greatly disappointed.
Daily charges will suffice...
Anyway there are very few phones nowadays that last much longer with all the features turned on...
8. Screen is fantastic
All in all a good phone.
Still very expensive...
i think the galaxy s2 is currently the best phone, however the arc is pretty good itself. Keep up the great tech's! :)
i wondering how s.e think about this phone based on its price buat didnt have secondary camera.
Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc ROCKS !!!
I must admit that after more than a decade of being loyal to Nokia and a few years with HTC, using "almost" all top of the range smartphones, I can say without hesitation that the the Sony Ericsson arc is undoubtedly "The Best" in the market at the time I write this. For how long will this be true is to be seen. I am secretly hoping that the Sony Ericsson Duo will steal the show once it is launched. SE has lured me into their camp with this winner phone.
Beauty, Style, Elegance, Performance, Reliability all forged into a smartphone so amazing that you have to salute the designers.
Sure it does not have a front facing camera, but this doesn't bother me as I don't do VC much. As for the single core cpu, it does a pretty good job, I've never had a problem with it slowing down or freezing. Of course I manage my APPs and processes with App2SD and ATK so its always blazing fast.
Now one thing which does bother me a little is the inability to access the microSD without removing the battery, but well, this is a small compromise for such a superb phone.
Sure there are some other phones put there which could be better in specs and performance but show me one that is so beautifully crafted ?
Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc ROCKS !!!
Prem, 17 Aug 2011Is the phone have noise reduction? Is that avoids noisy background and winds?Yes, the phone has a secondary microphone for noise cancellation when attending voice call, and it's also used as 2nd mic for stereo sound in video recording.
Is the phone have noise reduction? Is that avoids noisy background and winds?
The next Arc dat will come must include memory card slot protection, volume must be very loud i need, must have secondary or facing camera very necessary and light sensor thanks.
shaz, 17 Aug 2011hi people i love my arc but recently i am having problems with the touch screen runs slow and ... moreHi,
Is it because your phone is slow as a whole and so is not responding to touch or do you think that it is a problem with the ability to sense the touch?
I had the same problem but that was because my phone was slow as a whole. When I try to open something, it will not respond immediately, but after some 10 seconds, it would open up the app I was trying to open. If you think you have the same issue, here is what I did:
1. I turned off auto sync. I turn it on only when I sleep and when I wake up I turn it off, let it do all the syncing while I am asleep.
2. I uninstalled Mozilla(having it simply installed on my phone itself made my phone very slow even if it is not running-don't know why).
3. I had 6558 sms messages in my phone. I downloaded SMS Backup and Restore for free from the market. Backed up all the messages to an excel file and deleted all the messages.
4. Some apps can be moved to memory card. Move all such apps to memory card and keep phone memory free as much as possible.
Now the phone is fast as before.
