I didn't want to kill any of the default system services and so I kept them running coz I didn't know what they were for. So, in the end I didn't gain anything by using advanced task killer. But I still think it is a very good app.

So just having a task killer on your phone wont help your battery life if you dont know how to use it.
As with most technology these days, to benefit the most from them you need to know how to use them fully.

abby145, 20 Jul 2011thanks mr.ajmal..i did sort out my prob...never knew arc had automatic brightness feature in i... moreAbby,
I do not use any task killers or battery maintainance softwares. These task killers stop background services and helps us extend battery discharge time but that disables facebook, gtalk, gmail etc etc... The reason why I bought a smartfone is to be connected to friends and family abroad all the time through either facebook or gmail or gtalk... If I buy this phone and then install an app to disable it's services, then why should I buy this phone in the first place. This is my concept. Another thing is that the phone's OS is by default designed to keep these services running at all times. So, if you disable them, they will be up and running after some time. Then again it will be disabled by the task killer. It is the poor CPU that suffers in between this launching and ending of processes consuming more power and time for this. But if you really want to use such apps, I think Automatic Task Killer and Juice(or 'Juce'- I don't remember how it spells) Defender are the best. Both can kill tasks and killing tasks will extend battery charging intervals. Without any task killer, I have to charge my phone two times a day but I assume that is the pain I have to take to stay connected all the time and I am least bothered about it.
Arc does not play avi or mkv files by default. Download MoboPlayer from Market. It plays almost all formats.
I was just about to buy an Arc when I heard in a coconut shell about DUO; It's the first thing i need. Someone to show me the shop, plz. It has almost all features i love to see in the fone.

Anonymous, 20 Jul 2011Am thinking between iPhone 4 and Arc ???????Here the answer is so obvious-xperia arc!
I'm very disappointed. I bought my arc today and have been trying to establish wi-fi connection since, but to no avail.
And goes like that in loop. It's very annoying. This was the last thing I needed after a few rough days. But what I hate the most is that "I told you to buy HTC" talk I get... *heavy sigh*
is it me or as i checked the android market i always see in the troubleshoot of an apps always an upgrade for a fix for SGS2... even some of the apps are not supported by the "dual core beast", although i never ran into an incompatibility issue with an apps for my arc unless it is a tegra supported apps...
