Sony's ... moreIt seems that SE has learned its lesson after X10's fiasco and losing many loyal and REALLY pissed customers to other manufactures (including myself). One last thing: Many of you consider dual-core unimportant. If that's the case then why did SE announce Xperia Duo? Why did they bother anyway if one core is more than enough?
Sony Ericsson's Xperia Play, arc, neo and pro to get updated to Android 2.3.4 soon?
Sony's quartet of high-end Android smartphones including the Xperia arc, play, neo and pro might just have gotten updated to Android 2.3.3, but the engineers over at SE are already testing and working on delivering the latest version of Android Gingerbread, 2.3.4, according to an unspecified source quoted by SE-centric Semcblog. The update will bring bug fixes, but it will also patch some security holes and add new functionalities like Sony's audio filtering xLOUD technology to the handsets. It's expected to roll out widely in October.

You have the arc and do a lot of browsing? will you please share me your experience wi... moreNever had a wifi problem and I have it almost permanently one to have push mail and Facebook notifications. I don't have a data plan.
Maybe the signal is a bit weaker than my old N97 (nothing serious) but wifi spots management is far better. I hated how on symbian it always connected to the first spot on the list and if that one wasn't available it wouldn't automatically connect to the second one. Always changing wifi spot priorities on it.
This one does it as an ordinary computer and connects to whatever network is available
Cybertrone, 06 Jul 2011SE is users always prefer lower specs, mainly because their brand does not offer them . other ... moreNo, we prefer real world performance and trusted products.
Sony always had better sound than samsung, the arc as a good battery performance for its range, the camera is on of the best and the first to have retro-illuminated sensor (not even in your dreams Samsung!), great costumer support, very nice GPS and one of the best screens available.
Yes, one of the best screens, full with useful stuff like good colours and nice resolution and not useless stuff as high contrast or high viewing angles.
They may not be the hottest specs but they are great.
Like a Mercedes, it can not have the best specs in the world but it is still on of the best cars in the world. We prefer reliability, good performance in real conditions and of course, style and class. ;)

Very nice 720p video and very good lighting.
Go for it!
Regarding the wi-fi problems, I've been told by a SE service center staff that it's a "Router" specific problem, and not the phone itself...

sorry billy but ur a disgrace. who the hell needs a dual core smartphone? a single core is enough. i use the arc and its great. oh and also at least sony ericsson have a brain. samsung are a braindead company who have to copy the iphone in a LOT of ways. the galaxy s copied the iphone design. it copied the camera and HD video. the screen, the user interface and the menu style. the galaxy s2 is copying everything the iphone 5 will come out with such as the same old design, an 8 megapixel camera with 1080p and a HDMI port. its no wonder apple are suing samsung there a bunch of copycats who cant think for themselves

have updated all my apps from time to time and everything worked smoothly.
maybe the wifi problem is unit specific....
[deleted post]being the 1st doesn't mean you are the best. performance is the benchmark of being the best phone.
