Hello guys out there ... moreThe present failure of Sony Ericsson shows in its uninspiring devices which are based on third-party operating systems? (Android) Other brands are investing heavily in their own OS and also investing heavily in new technology. But Sony Ericsson has shown itself to be just a copy cat in all aspects. Sitting back, watching and copying others brands .
With Android, Sony Ericsson is reduced to being nothing more than a me-too vendor that will be eaten alive eventually. This decision is really about SE focusing on a single platform as they're not capable of supporting any more platforms, a dramatic sign of how the once mighty have fallen.
It's a shame they've had to make this decision. It would be great to see other vendors support and offer Symbian devices alongside Nokia, but if that doesn't happen then Nokia are more than capable of going it alone, or with just the Japanese vendors.
SE doesnít have the resources to support multiple platforms, particularly any platform that requires a modicum of intellectual investment as is the case with Symbian.
The days of SE are limited and within 2 years SE will collapse.
SE = copy.paste
Can some Arc user tell,how app performance is in general? Is it slow or jerky? The 512 MB ram looks a bit worrying.

Besides a bit faster performance, there is no other notable advantage for dual-core phones.
You came to bash SE, promote a book, act like a professional to market, profits, etc & complain SE phones suck without logical points.
Try to make some useful comments.
The "metal" part you refer to is not metal at all, it's just simple plastic coated with metalic paint, so I guess it isn't scratch resistant.
Once upon time, Sony Ericsson made the most awesome little mobile phones. Lately, itís been trying to sell high-end phones exclusively. But the phones suck, and Sony Ericssonís moving less phones than ever, falling out of the top five brands.
Given where itís at in market share and profitability compared to everybody else, long-running corporate troubles and slow fade to irrelevancy, we gotta ask: How much longer before Sony Ericsson kicks it?

well , im a proud user of the x10 , now the arc arrived to my country, I must confess Im temptated by the samsung galaxySII, but theres some things that Im not shure, samsung is not as solid as sony e in handsets, pain tear wear off fast, samsung seems a copy from iphone, and even if somebody said dualcore is out dated for me(playing with words), cause theres no lots of apps dedicated only for dualcore, I thing single core still make the job, the arc has better design and I know that SE is making a good job in manofacturing reliable phones, a year with the x10 has no signs of wear, and I must confess that my x10 has fallen so many times to hit the floor and nothing happens, no scratches, but Im temptated by features in the SII galax, but I thing ILL but the arc, cause IM in love of the x10
