xyz, 04 May 2011Stop comparing N8 to Arc. I believe anyone who wants to use bulky N8 for its camera are better... moreSo true. If all you need is the N8's camera, then you're better off buying a stand-alone cam. It will cost you less too.
Between the N8 and the Arc, I take the Arc. The Arc is atleast a REAL smartphone, with an excellent camera too. The N8 is just a feature phone on steroids -- only the 12mp camera is any good at all.

N8 is only good for its camera, if you need a smart phone with features then look elsewhere.
I wanna buy a phone which will be better se arc or galaxy s 2 ?
Thanks in advance.....
Looks like a great phone. Ive always gone with sony phones until last year when the options were few. Too bad I had to leave and get the N8. Or was it? LOVE my N8. Congrats on the Arc Sony but you move too slow man
for me n8 is better than arc when it comes to camera its only because n8 has 12mp while arc has 8 only.. its an old school

Calvin55, 03 May 2011I'm using my ARC since 4th of april. first 1 week experience- battery drains within 8 to 10 ho... morewill these solutions help if we use the camera a lot and watch a lot of videos.
I own the Xperia Arc for about a month ,a word that I can say AMAZING but not WONDERFUL.Because Arc Still have some flaw, the main flaw is the battery life totally SUCK,all Phone Makers should create a New tech on battery. And the Second Flaw that is the back cover of the arc is just a scratch magnet, they should use more quality material for this kind of high-end device.
I'm using my ARC since 4th of april. first 1 week experience- battery drains within 8 to 10 hours. After hours after hours and days after days experiment,Now My battery last 2 days with heavy use and 3+ days with little use.
Its a Damn good battery. and the phone, I have never been so happy with a phone.(probably because its like a portable computer)
1. Add these 2 widgets- Power Control, Data Traffic
2. Use the widget Turn off wifi, gps, bluetooth, Sync and Data traffic
2. Disable autosync for all account.
Every time you need something , eg Sync Mail, wifi, 3g/2g data, Just enable from widget, It takes 1 seconds only to do that.(better than keep the battery plugged in to charger)
YOU DONT NEED JUCE DEFENDER OR ANY APP KILLER. When you close an app it chached into memory, its not running in background. I first realized that when using the beautiful google navigation.
WHAT KILLS YOUR BATTERY?- its actually the combination. 3G/2G, SKYPE, YAHOO this type of app. which runs always even you closed them.
My experience, 30 Minutes browsing via wifi, 1 hour(was more) google maps including navigation with 3g data enabled, 20 minutes on call, over 8/9 hours time Battery use=25to 30%.approximately.
Phone idle time 24 hours- battery use10 to 15% approx.
I told ideas to my other friends who are using android and they said it improved battery by 30 to 70%. Hope this helps to you
Additionall batery saving idea-
you can disable back ground data (1 to 2% battery save)
set brightness to auto/ambient or as minimum as comfortable to you.
Move apps to SD (I moved all those movable in my phone, not sure how much it helped but i got 100+ apps already)
play with your application manager see wich one is using resources.
check your widgets, some are keeps an apps running at all time.
restarting phone will not help improving the phone(that my experience)
