I hope I can get this phone once released. A huge leap from the X10.
OT: my officemate just bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab and compared the clarity of the screen with my 10 monht old X10. she was a bit disappointed because my X10's screen was clearer.
SO, the ultimate question, for me, as I understand a lot of people have, which phone.
I need inter-connectivity b/w my hardware and software at home.
Active sync for my live account is important. I believe that android can do this. Am I correct?
Can the Arc do Remote Play to the PS3?
If I plug the Arc into my Sony TV I believe that I can use the sync function of the reomte control to control the phone. Can I surf the web while doing this? Can I plug my wireless keyboard and mouse into my TV and control the phone?
DLNA. Can I stream media from other DLNA devices (PC, PS3 ect...)
Can someone please tell me if the Xperia Arc will run on the AWS network like the Xperia x10 does. is it compatible with t-mobile in US and Wind mobile in canada? those companies run on the AWS network. Thanks.
Anonymous, 06 Apr 2011I popped into the carphonewarehouse yesterday to have a look at this phone and although its us... moreIt is also available in aluminium. The phone you saw was dummy. There can be great difference between dummy and real phone. Go and ask for silver Arc
What's the SAR value and what is all about the rumor that we can't use focus over 2MP?
not happy with the battery and the camera button is hard to function, should press very hard to make it work!!
Battery is very poor!!!
otherwise am very happy with the cell
pls suggest any ideas!!!! for the battery
if u need a better cam with super contrast reality screen, and cute design and a superfast 1ghz processor.then go for xperia arc.if u need bad and crap design with unstable amoled screen go for sgs2,
Today I got to play with the Arc for a little bit.
My first impressions,
Overall a very large phone, but rather thin, nice build quality, and it's not so "bent" as they would like you to think. It doesn't stand out that much.
Camera is way to close to the upper right corner, both when I and my friend who got the phone tried to take a picture our fingers were covering the lens because that's how you hold the phone, over the sides like a real camera but you can't. So you have to hold it more in the middle while trying to press the miniature camera shutter on the other edge of the phone, total ergonomics design failure! Pictures though looked ok once taken, and the processing speed was quite good.
Screen, large and very responsive but sorry, LCD is so old tech. Get your phones some Amoleds, do you hear me Sony Ericsson.
Thats it for now.
It runs Android, nothing special there.
I am getting 2 handphones for my children. I find all this technology a bit mind boggling. So for you tech savvy people out there, which phone should I give them (and they dont mind having the same phone) : IP4, Ericsson Arc or LG Optimus.
please do not buy the phone .please do not be fooled by its beauty. It has many defects i am telling you as i used it. The battery do not lasts more than 3 days. Video and pictures takes time to load. Audio quality is lower than even the lower end smart phones of sony ericsson. There is no video calling camera. Camera is good but the video recording produces poor pale colors such as pink insted of red sky blue insted of green, there is some duplicate frames also the videos are over sharpened and fast winding.

arc is really superb in its features n d cam clearity n display is mind blowing but d main disadventage is d mob gets heat if v take 5snaps n d battery packup is very very poor..i returned d mob by d next day of purchase..
I bought this phone 2days back and i am loving it..it is very fast, sound is good n the battery backup is better than x10..I would love to see arc in white color.
Can anyone else that actually HAS an Arc, tell me if you als already have small scars on the display after several days? And if so, does the handset have an additional, removable plastic layer to protect the actual (scratch free) screen? I'm not sure about this and I don't want to damage the display by trying to remove it. Please give your opinions, thanks a lot!
abhi, 06 Apr 2011Nokia phones with AMOLED screen r suffering from Purple/Blue Tint issues. Samsung phones wit... moreI agree with you. Two of my officemate got Galaxy S and the color is extremely over saturated and the result is that colors are no longer natural. I don't know exactly how to describe it but screen looks blueish or greenish. When both of us compare side-by-side with my Xperia X10, I still prefer the natural color of my Xperia X10. Even them, they claim that X10 colors are more natural than theirs.
Just got my Arc - opened the box and was impressed with the looks of the phone - it's a style statement. Have not powered it up - will post once I get down to it.
Can anyone tell me if this phone is available in the USA? If yes, then tell me how/where I can get this phone. I am just drooling over to get this phone. Reply soon.
jus hope SE doesn't launch other shades for d arc after a while.. i wanted black at first but now i know that d closest i can get to it is midnight blue. but still its okay AS LONG AS SE doesn't launch d black after i actually get d blue.. Dat would be SHEER DISAPPOINTMENT.
im, 06 Apr 2011I like every bit of the arc but the only thing thats made me think twice is the phone memory..... moreyou can't install apps directly to the SD-card, but once you've completed installation, you go to the applications menu, tap on the app you want to move, and select 'move to memory card'. Easy as 1,2,3.
