Watch this link video of Xperia PLAY rendering SMOOTH movements of the widgets, compare to Xperia ARC having some slight LAGS when viewing all the widgets.
I'm wondering why this happens, and to take note that ARC and PLAY has the same processor.
Guys... now it's almost official that we will see a LTE flagship phone from SE pretty soon.
The recently announced phones by SE like Arc, neo, pro & play aren't flagship devices from any side, so this forthcoming new LTE device could easily be a dual core powerhouse.
Morover SE is also considering Android tablets.
wbt, 17 Feb 2011The galaxy 2 got no hdmi port and no tv out but arc have al that so read twice before you post... moreGS II use MHL . this technology far better than HDMI port .
Plus GS II have OTG . your dreams SE fanboy . haha

people, 17 Feb 2011I personally like Sony Ericsson but Sony is not releasing froyo to xperia even. this is how th... moresony already said tht they will update X10 wid froyo in march or at start of april so dnt worry :)
I personally like Sony Ericsson but Sony is not releasing froyo to xperia even. this is how they treated their customers. now arc is says I comes with 2.3 gingerbread but seems they pissed xperia users :-(
Refrain from phone comparision, it will start a fanboy war.
Regarding tech side, amoled screen is prone to degrade - blue pixels die out faster than other colors.
So much for good technology, brighter screens.
While Sony Ericsson use BRAVIA engine to their display, samsung actually do the same thing, they use DNle engine on their S8530 Wave II to its s-lcd display. For those who are saying BRAVIA name is just a gimmick, can you accept if I say samsung are copying SE marketing strategy?

Pavel, 17 Feb 2011BUT arc's display is definitely more friendly for user's eyes!)TOO MUCH almost always NOT GOOD!)totally agree mate...even i feel the same.i will always give bravia engine an edge over the SAMOLEDs...though m just saying this by looking at arcs demo on you tube !!! and i had SGS so i know how SAMOLEDs are...i might sound bit foolish here but i was never in to fevour of over colour saturation of SAMOLEDs...i know it'll be too early to coment on sonys bravia engine but whatever i saw on demo video of arc...i was impressed by the detail produced on arcs acreen rather than bright undefigned colour screens with a hint of blue tint by SAMOLEDs.
its all about the preefrnce i guess...some of us might will enjoy the bri8 screens of samsungs SAMOLEDs but i will preefer arcs detailed clear screen.it doesnt mean either of em r bad...pros and cons of indivisual will always be there :-)
This cell is awesome. I am keen to buy it. Although secondary camera does not exist but it does not matter to me because there is no use of 2ndry camera in Pakistan.
Pavel, 17 Feb 2011BUT arc's display is definitely more friendly for user's eyes!)TOO MUCH almost always NOT GOOD!)hele yeah, i know what you mean, but still super amoled is better than ARC's display. i dont like an over saturated display too, but it doesnt mean that it's not better than arc's :)
As a sony fan and x10 user I've been been looking for another sony since sometime now. But after looking at the new galaxy 2, I think sgs2 has topped the arc specs in everyway possible.
xperia play looks like a good option but se took lots of features away from it for gaming.

AnonD-1809, 16 Feb 2011Oh my previous post appears not to be reaching you, well i said that you have a powerful memor... moreThe phone (X8) is adequate enough for the ones who do not care about specifications race. And as I also bought a samsung s533 wave for my niece at the same price, I can say the X8 is cool enough for the money I hv spent. (More about X8 your can follow it @ its respective forum pages)
Why I prefer Pro rather than arc..., actually I don't. The arc is still more beautiful than the other one, but I just feel the Pro will be more comfortable at any occasion...
