Does anyone know why they didn't give this phone
A front facing camera ? Seems a very strange omission .
Nokia N8.........The system works surprisingly well - in low light, it's even superior to optical zoom, since the latter involves more glass optics, reducing the light that gets to the sensor. Nokia don't push this improved zoom facility in any of their N86 or N8 marketing, but it's something well worth noting.
[deleted post]Nokia N8 does NOT need a video light. It takes the BEST night videos.
With its Carl Zeiss optics wide angle lens, it absorbs all available light and produces brighter night video than any phone with 2 x led's.
This is the problem. People lack real camera/video knowledge. Or, perhaps Nokia needs to educate people correctly.
There is heaps of videos on you tube to show this.

For more pictures, just google Ansel Adams photography. Most of the pictures in black and white, however what you'll see are masterpiece(s).

You are right, but the MP is important, because on your PC you can zoom more your pictures. By the way if you have a camera with a lot of optical zoom, you can zoom freely, and the quality is the SAME! That's the cause optical zoom is so popular, is so needed in these days. SE should make as well phones with 3 or 4x optical zoom. :D

When I told my dad how much money I've spent for this gadget, he just told me I was crazy to wasting my bucks for that thing. He's right, I seem not a capable person to use it. With a 18 MP cam in my hand, I thought I would able to make good photos any time I want. But seeing at my results, I truly wasn't satisfied with them.
Until on my dad's annivsry b'day, we hired a pro. photographer, asked him to use my cam to make documentation photos. So with a full of bag of camera accessories he used it, and the results were just amazing!
.: I just want to tell you that it's not the camera nor megapixels or whatsoever the most important, but it's the man behind, who can make a picture telling you a thousand words.
Anonymous, 03 Feb 2011What are you talking man?? :)) The CCD sensor is twice better then the OLD CMOS one, LOL! How ... moreCome on friend. Lets be honest here. The Sharp camera phones DON'T have 3 x optical zoom and have a small angle lens and only use a simple LCD screen.
Yes, full HD is possible, but the quality would not match HD of Nokia n8.
Nokia N8 is all about about camera/video quality. Thats its selling point.

"Sharp Sh-05 C has a big sensor, it has a 3x optical zoom too, and with the awesome CCD sensor..."
Nokia N8 has a smaller CPU to give great battery life. As Symian is a very lite OS and a powerful CPU is not required. For many people great battery life is important.
N8 has an artifical 3 x optical Zoom with a CCD Carl Zeiss optics wide angle lens. The undisputed BEST camera phone in the world.
Sorry, but you are wrong about Sharp. It is behind Nokia in camera technology and behind Samsung as Samsung had a 3D phone in mid 2010.
Also Sharp only uses a LCD screen. Nokia uses Amoled with black light and Gorilla Glass. Samsung, of course has the best screens.
Sorry, not trying to argue, I just like the true facts here.
And Sharp phones are great looking. Maybe that is the attraction for you.
