ramin, 24 Jan 2011and SE will be the first manufacture to release a phone with 3rd generation dual core snapdrag... moreTo Ramin

You are wrong,

SE is not going to release a 3rd generation dual core processor,
what you have writtne is toltally misleading,it totally wrong

Correction

SE will be the 1st manufacturer to release a 3rd generation snapgraggon (NOT A 3RD Generation DUAL CORE)

The 3rd generation snapgraggon's aer a dual core processora

there is no such thing called 3rd generation dual core processor.

Many websites indicate that the Xperia Arc comes with 8 GB of internal memory. If this is correct, it is not reflected in the gsmarena specifications for this phone.

abhi, 23 Jan 2011I agree with u. Plastic is more better than metal bcoz in case of plastic if the phone is dro... morenot just this, another bigger reason why plastics are better than metal body is because at such high frequencies of communications even the smallest metal piece act as an antenna and it can radiate, causing detuning of main antenna (similar issue and live eg. is the Iphone 4 that suffers from this genetic disorder).

so people cribbing for metal body should understand the technicalities first and then demand for the outer appearance, designing and developing a phone Hardware (electronics and mechanics) always have a trade off.

now you decide if you need beauty or the performance.

Plastic is more better than metal bcoz in case of plastic if the phone is dropped than it absorbs most of the shock to itself , it may damage the body but the internal hardware is kept safe but in metal body shock is transferred to the internal hardware which can result in seriously damaging of phone's internal hardware.
It's always good to have a safer internal system than the outer body.

I think plastic is better for phones bec. it absorbs impact more than any other material can. It also never hinders your phone's antenna to look for a signal.

But i want to have some metal too. Out of my compulsion of having a phone that feels cold and premium. However, that's not a big issue. I can choose whatever phone i want while ignoring this feature. Still, metal is not such a big requirement for me.

I'll leave a question this time: how many future android versions do you guys think xperia arc will survive through? Will dual cores be ever be a system requirement. Maybe by the time we have jellybean, or muffins?(whatever m-dessert that is)

To ROB
>Yes same MEGA PIXELS with x10 but with EXMOR Technology, which is perfect for low light condition.
>Yes same Processing clock, but with low NANOMETER for ARC at 45NM compare to X10 with 65NM. Which means lower power consumption that can save battery life.
1st Generation QSD8250 at 65NM for X10, 2nd Generation MSM8255 with ADRENO 205 GPU(for graphics acceleration) at 45NM for ARC
>Very good design and the thinest at the same time lightweight smart phone.
>AND THE ONLY PHONE as of now to have MULTI-TOUCH ALL POINT technology.
http://www.talkandroid.com/27026-sony-ericsson-xperia-arc-to-support-ten-point-multi-touch/

Haha, who needs dual core? Get a tablet PC if you want a dual core. Smart phone doesn't need a dual core. Single core can do the job.

still we have bunch of kids in this forum
even it will be a shame to some people to even discuss in this forum

bad words
aggressive approach
nothing to learn from

and as for the plastics , there is nothing wrong to be made of pure plastic , please note that plastic has revolutionised the modern industry
without plastic we could not have the prosperity of todays life , ,

and as for the specifications , I bet that no one in this forum will use half of the real capabilities of this phone , these new phones to be used fullt , you should first understand how Android works with its hardware .

Battery : this is a big issue to discuss and comment on , and this is the one of the biggest probelm of any manufacturer at the desigh stage
,,, still there isnt a big step taken in the market for the betteries , but soem new innovations are available in the market ,,
