AnonD-12606, 29 Sep 2011No secondary/video camera, Outdated LCD screen (Bravia engine means nothing, just words), no... moreYou've got so many complaints man, then don't buy Xperia Arc if it does not fit to your requirements. Nobody is forcing you to buy it, if you cannot afford to buy as you said being overpriced just shut up. Why you are moaning like 4 yrs old kid that there is no video call camera, outdated CPU, small internal memory, etc etc then buy Samsung, Nokia. Being user of Arc, Bravia Engine, Reality Display, Exmor R, are not only words or marketing strategy buy it's all real. You don't even own a screen protector of Arc so you are not in a position to say anything to attach Arc.
Hi.. Can anyone help me. How do I see what is on my phone memory.? I can see wahs on the sd card but. Not on the phone memory
Ajmal Basheer, 30 Sep 2011Maybe you are right, maybe it is moboplayer that is causing the problem. I will try Arc Player... morethats great buddy!so,finally u get the 32gb class 6 card.so pls,let us know,if u load ur card around 70-80%,does it make the phone slow or laggish?
Btw,which brand ur card is & how much cost it in $?
ustu, 29 Sep 2011hey pal,how r u?long time no see..... I'm very irregular in fb & nimbuzz, thats why not se... moreMaybe you are right, maybe it is moboplayer that is causing the problem. I will try Arc Player or rock player lite. And my memory card is class 6(32GB) after market.
ghostrider, 28 Sep 2011If you had a choice between the Samsung Galaxy S and the Sony Ericsson Arc which one would you... morewell, actually, honestly,it depends upon the buyer.every person has different tastes.many likes the super amoled & many the reality display.it totally depends.my nephew is using the galaxy s.i've seen his screen & for me,it just didn't work.& for the memory, yeah, that really matters.out of the 8gb,2gb is for rom, thats far better than arc's tiny 320 mb.now, believe it or not, with this ''puny'' memory,i installed more than 120 apps & games.but i gotto admit that the set was a little bit of slow, shows some lag because of many apps running in the background.& i don't know, but i think a very few of us r having more than 120 apps really useful.
For the camera part, arc got the best camera than any droid,& i love to take snaps.i got 11 camera apps right now.
Think about the design.yes, galaxy s is beautiful, but for me,its too i-phonish.for the arc, nothing to say.for me,it was a ''love at first sight'' thing.
For the video codecs, remember that u r in android plattform,u can get anything u need,so this is really not a matter.
But mostly, its all about personal preferences, these r just facts, but the factor is u,i mean, the buyer.i'm not telling u to buy this or that,it's totally ur personal choice.
& one thing, don't be fooled by the paper specs, rather depend on the user reviews, this is more realistic.
Hope this helps u......
Ajmal Basheer, 29 Sep 2011Ahem! Ahem! I am here buddy. I am reading all comments once or twice in a week. Lucky that you... morehey pal,how r u?long time no see.....
I'm very irregular in fb & nimbuzz, thats why not seeing u around,i guess.
Well,i didn't get ur problem, man.the final fantasy clip is really smooth,& about the 1.4 gb file,i played the kungfu panda .avi file smoothly with arc player(with subtitle) & rock player lite, but the mobo player shows the av sync problem.so try these players.& one thing, test ur memory card class,i've tested mine & it's class 4(the free one).
AkMM, 29 Sep 2011can one ose mouse, thumb-drive or keyboard on SE Arc without live dock ??yeap!u can.but u have to follow some steps.go to the forum.xda-developers.com~sony ericsson xperia arc~android development~then find out the USB-OTG posted by doomlord.
ustu, 28 Sep 2011no problem bro.....no prob at all.....just missed u guys around.i wonder what happens to se201... moreAhem! Ahem! I am here buddy. I am reading all comments once or twice in a week. Lucky that you are able to play 1.4GB 720p files without any problem. I even tried 500MB 720p files, it plays but with AV sync issues. But the default Final Fantasy video that comes with the phone is 270MB, it plays very well. Maybe because of the difference in the codec. I even feel that it is dependent on the file playback duration. If it is a 7 minute 270 MB video, it plays well but if it is 14 minute video with same file size(270MB) I have trouble in playing it. To make things simpler, nowadays I just use the DVDRip files with normal resolution but on the Arc screen and BRAVIA Engine, I feet it is as good as 720p.
No secondary/video camera, Outdated LCD screen (Bravia engine means nothing, just words), no Bluetooth 3, no FM Transmitter, no music equalizer, no wide angle camera lens, only 1500mah battery, overpriced, very small internal memory, 2009/10 old CPU, limited 3G frequencies, no gorilla glass screen, no free GPS maps, only USB v2.0, etc etc
Sorry, but again SE has failed.
Ive had my arc for about 3 weeks. Its a beautiful phone and I think it does live up to "Best looking smart phone of 2011". SE has done a great job with android and with their own timescape interface. SE is a great company even though a few people might have some negative things to say. SE is here to stay!! The arc is the best smartphone Ive ever had! Even though it only has a 1Ghz processor, it does all that I need it for! Will recommend SE anytime!!
PS - I can guarantee you that if you drop your Samsung Galaxy S II in water it will die a painful death!
New software update released in India today for Arc:
-XLoud : boosts music sound
-Stereo recording for video
-Digital home connectivity
-Landscape mode for home
can one ose mouse, thumb-drive or keyboard on SE Arc without live dock ??
The present failure of Sony Ericsson shows in its uninspiring devices which are based on third-party operating systems? (Android) Other brands are investing heavily in their own OS and also investing heavily in new technology.
But Sony Ericsson has shown itself to be just a copy cat in all aspects. Sitting back, watching and copying others brands .
With Android, Sony Ericsson is reduced to being nothing more than a me-too vendor that will be eaten alive eventually. This decision is really about SE focusing on a single platform as they're not capable of supporting any more platforms, a dramatic sign of how the once mighty have fallen.
It's a shame they've had to make this decision. It would be great to see other vendors support and offer Symbian devices alongside Nokia, but if that doesn't happen then Nokia are more than capable of going it alone, or with just the Japanese vendors.
SE doesn’t have the resources to support multiple platforms, particularly any platform that requires a modicum of intellectual investment as is the case with Symbian.
I'm giving a comparison between Sony Ericcson Xperia Arc and Motorola Atrix....These are ALL facts and can be checked at “gsmarena’s” specifications.... Nothing here is my opinion. All is factual.
Arc has a great 8mp camera with more options. (Exmor R sensor is a minor tech improvement, but there is no CCD lens, just a plastic lens, NO wide angle lens, No large camera sensor) Motorola Atrix only has a decent 5mp camera. (Nokia N8 is the BEST camera/video phone)
Arc has a 0.2 inch larger display. Atrix has higher screen Resolution. Both have outdated LCD screens. Although the Arc has LED Backlighting, which is better. (Nothing compares to a Super Amoled screens by Samsung)
Different Android customizations, although both are fully upgradable. Motorola is more upgradable due to faster CPU, higher ROM and more RAM
Arc talk time is 7 hours, Atrix talk time is up to 9 hours. Atrix , in theory will have longer time for internet, movies, GPS, music , general usage etc.
Arc battery is 1,500 mAh, Atrix battery is 1,930 mAh.
Arc is slimmer at 10.0mm as compared to Atrix 10.1mm..
Arc is 125 mm long. Atrix is 117.8 mm long.
Arc is is a beautiful designed phone. This is its main selling point.
Both phones are excellent plastic build quality. Both made by Foxconn in China.
Motorola Atrix has Dual-core 1GHz CPU. Arc has 1GHz single processor CPU. (Dual core is only used when needed, thus not really affecting battery life)
1080p, full HD video playback is possible with Atrix via a HDMI cable to TV. Full HD is not available in Arc.
Atrix has 1GB RAM. Arc only has 512 mb RAM.
Atrix has 16GB storage. Arc only has 320mb. (Need to buy a memory card for Arc)
Atrix has a secondary Camera. Arc has NO secondary camera.
Atrix has a finger print reader. Arc doesn’t.
Atrix has HSDPA, 14.4 Mbps. Arc only has HSDPA, 7.2 Mbp.
Motorola Atrix has several add on options such as a docking stand etc....
All this info is not biased and can be checked at gsmarena’s specifications.
i think the blutooth is sooo weak in this phone! why didn't they put the 3.0 on this phone!and the HSPDA bandwidth is soo slow for this phone when we have 14MB and 21MB on sensation and galaxy s2!!!it's not even 10MB!!! 5.7 is really terrible for this model!!

phoenix, 28 Sep 2011hi! thanks dear pal for your support :-) I know the real SE 2010, and I'm in touch with him,... moreno problem bro.....no prob at all.....just missed u guys around.i wonder what happens to se2010,abhi,cell,roar,x10sive user, ajmal basheer & some other guys whose name i cant remeber right now though ajmal basheer is my fb friend & i can contact him if i wish.but i really miss u guys, the best helpers around.i really miss the good old days.....i'm just trying to follow u guys footsteps, nothing more.btw, good to see u back......tc....
muehe, 28 Sep 2011Hi ALL. I would like to ask you what program or converter I have to use to watch movies in my ... morerock player lite, mobo player,mx video player, arc media player etc,all of'em r free.for transferring them, connect the set in media storage mode.i don't think that u should convert any video, cause with these players,u can play almost all formats.& one last thing,i've tested up to 1.4 gb 720p file that run smoothly, but 2.25 gb sized file failed to response.& i guess 1080p won't run at all, though i havn't checked it.
