I'm using this phone for about 2 months now. The screen's very bright and so far I'm happy with it. Movies never looked this good, trust me. It lags sometimes but not when you're just doing one thing. I mean don't multitusk. Certain times if the ram is used up too much the phone lags, but of course that'd happen to any phone. No heating prob. It goes roughly up to 34 deg if I multitusk, which is okay with me.

Well, for a change, i'm glad that the people here on the xperia arc s thread are nice enough. thanks for your comments. Don't you guys experience quick heating problems on your arc s too? Anyway, i'm totally over with my arc s. My gf's really nice enough to take my arc s in exchange for her Galaxy W after I got my phone back from the service center. She knows I love playing games and she just want a neat, white and classy-looking smartphone at the same time so she agreed. I have no problems with my new Galaxy W, runs very smooth even for a full 6-8 hours of heavy use without heating too much. but one thing that I miss from my arc s is the timescape UI, w/c is wayyyy better than the boring touchwiz, and the 8 mp camera of course. Don't get me wrong guys, i love the arc s, if only that unlucky incident didn't happen.
ELIPS, 09 Feb 2012I'm planning to buy this phone, but there is one thing that bothers me... Is screen really so ... moreBuddy the screen is the best thing in this phone since its got brivia engine... the image clarity is just awesome...

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu, 09 Feb 2012My gf and I bought our first smartphones last december. We decided to get two different phones... moreso sorry to hear that u had to go thru that hell with your phone... i too was tempted to get this xperia arc s phone because it was on sale at the time i was planning to buy a new phone but my bf convinced me to get an n9 instead and we both did buy n9 last december, and thank god for that... good luck with ur phone maybe it'll get better in time..
I bought this phone last January 30 this year. Compared to Galaxy S2, this phone can be matched to S2's specs and only S2 have a little difference to Arc S. If you're questionning about the lags, well you could just use any task managers or task killers to prevent such lags. When it comes to the hardware, the phone heats up definitely if you're using music, wifi (internet), or even games at the same time BUT it's normal, you don't have to worry too much about it. So far I'm contented with this unit. People who are complaining about the specs are stagy and won't take a single chance to experience a lot of features within their handsets. Well so far, I'm still waiting for the Official Update of Arc S to ICS effective by the end of March or within April this year.
It is the best smartphone ever. Bright screen, fast performance, slim and stylish. When playing video clips arc s' display is far more better than the AMOLED display. If u don't trust me, check it yourself by comparing with an AMOLED display.

This is just s excellence phone. I have been usin for the past 6 months.... Just great
My gf and I bought our first smartphones last december. We decided to get two different phones, and our choices were (considering our tight budget and preferences) the Galaxy W and this stupid xperia fart S. It didn't take long before I noticed it's problem. it heats up so fast, it goes above 40 degrees celsius while only doing some internet stuff tru wifi. If I keep it going on, the phone would lag like hell, making it impossible to use unless I reboot the phone. I sent it back to the sony service center 6 days after i bought it. I requested for a replacement but they said that they can't, cuz there wasn't any factory defects and all that was needed to do is to just upgrade some firmware stuff. When they sent my phone back after 2 weeks, i was damned to see that they opened up my phone to fix it, tampering the NTC sticker! Do they really have to open up the phone to update it's firmware?! Here in the philippines, prices of 2nd hand phones would drastically go down if the NTC sticker gets tampered with. Now I wouldn't be able to sell it for a fair price if i want to replace this crap. So freakin' pissed off with sony and this bullcrap phone! Should've chosen the galaxy W instead. Oh and for the record, it still heats up freakishly fast but, so far, doesn't lag anymore.
