I'm experiencing heat up problem whenever I access internet on my SE Xperia Arc S but I already have Build number 4.0.2.A.0.42. I switch on "WCDMA only" everytime I access internet for faster connection. What else do you do to avoid heat up problem? thanks
Just bought the Arc S about 4 days ago.
What was included in my box is different from the GSMArena review. They were correct in region specific boxing. For my region (SE Asia) we got 16GB Micro SD (looks like class 8, cant tell from the sign) and the Mini HDMI to HDMI cable. (Definitely much better than that pouch thing).
Quick usage review: Coming from the Samsung Galaxy Ace, this thing totally knocks its socks off. Very zippy. Home screens flow w/ no problem. Battery does drain if you aren't too careful w/ your usage. (Coming from both the OG Droid/Milestone and the Ace, definitely got some experience). To have maximum usage I placed the phone into 2G mode (GSM mode) and used wifi when available (AND turning it off after use).
An interesting note, THERE IS auto brightness (hidden from user selection). But since SE removed the power controller in the Arc S. I downloaded my usual replacement, the Widgetsoid2.x app. And the option is there. However it is very obvious when the phone changes brightness. It would sit at each preset brightness for a second before going to the next.
The screen is wonderful, especially since I have large hands. Typing is fine. Watching videos is surperb. Gaming is doable. (But nothing like the graphic extensive) But for powerhouse gaming, I have an Asus EeePad, which totally rocks as it can use PS3 controllers for games.
Overall, build quality is good. I purchased the white one and quickly purchased a jelly case (Capdase) which included a screen protector as well. (Good buy) The Power button as said in the review is annoying, and the other Hardware keys are a pain sometimes but overall, I guess its just getting used to it.
I did wish they put a front facing camera on the device. Oh well.
All in all, I enjoyed my purchase. Overall quick score: 4.5/5
Snow, 10 Dec 2011except Xperia Play ... :(Is that true... um, maybe the update software for PLAY's camera was meant to enhance the video rec resolution from 480p to 720p - dunno, however android 4.0 is about to come and sweep panorama will be there as a standard feature for camera.
in 2012 their will be no sony ericsson brand phones it will just be sony so y buy if the brand will be dead
shawon.nsu, 10 Dec 2011Thnkx..Is it??? R u sure about that??? then why they specifically identify only NEO V ? plz te... moreIf gsm arena only mentioned about 3d panorama in neo V and Arc S on their specification pages, maybe it is because from the day they were announced both phones already running android 2.3.4. However when the delayed models like active, neo and Xperia pro (known would be running 2.3.3 if they were released on schedule) hit the market recently, SE has upgraded the os version already out of the box. Hence these models also come with 3d sweep panorama feature.
