katz from the Philippines here. I have a friend who bought xperia 2 months ahead of me and was just released couple of months aftr the announcement. She had that overheating and key issues and had to go back to sony ericsson service center to get it calibrated. the key issue has already been taken care of, however, the overheating still reocurred. i just dont know how what she did and the overheating were minimized. her colleague bought xperia and they both have the same problem. i got mine from suncellular (wireless provider) and what i had is that key issue. that same calibration fix did it. i guess it's just a case to case basis. for me, so far so good an im lovin it. whenever somebody looks at my phone, they get envious because of a small and not too expensive phone has a lot of features. i recommend this phone to everyone!
not all xperia mini have heating issue! Stop making stupid comments! Theres a sony erics. Service center to fix it! Mine is 11w52 it works fine check yours! If your going to buy it make sure the production date is 11w52 so that the ratio you may get defect xperia is low! Im from ph. So far so good! Get rooted but dnt unlock bootloader TEAM SYMBIANIZE!

Grim, 28 May 20121.) Does this phone really have overheating problems? (as I read through some of the comments,... moreYes- I've got 2, both do it, one went back to SE for repair in Nov, just started reusing as other now back for repair with SE, it still does it. When the fone is ok, I think its the best availible at present, so I hope SE fix properly soon

yaser kim, 28 May 2012can anybody tell how to fix or prevent the "overheating" problem of the Xperia Mini?... morehttp://www.technetsavvy.com/2012/04/fix-xperia-mini-stt15i-overheating.html
Tell me if you fix it.
I brought this phone on Feb-2012 from ebay. After 3 days i got touch screen issue. The back button was continously activated making the phone unusable...
i gave my mobile to nearby SE service centre and they rectified the problem in just 1 hr..till now i didnt get that issue..
Its really a fantastic phone with great feautures and its very unique..i am lovin it...
Cute phone... And abt the heating problem its not a hoax.. With your normal 32k sim card it works damn good, no over heating.. I also tried with a 64k 3G sim card.. It starts getting heated and the back button automatically works, your touch screen eventually gives up. Normal sim users kindly go ahead. Its a cool phone for you at an affordable price. Thanks

I ve been using this phone for 8 months now.
I never ever had issues with it.
No overheating, no restarts, no key issues.
For all i know, its just a myth aimed to defame it, as this phone practically has no fault.
Its competent in every way and has a fair price and compact size.
So internet had to invent a way to defame it.
And the easiest thing to do, is report vague reports about liability issues that cannot be reproduced to any device and cannot be confirmed whatsover.
After 8 months using this phone daily, personally, its safe to conclude that this phone is as reliable as they get.
With less use, x10, iphone4, EVO 3D and SGSII had to restart once or twice and all had their own little issue, that i have yet to find in this little wonder.
Stop reproducing false myths and ask around, this phone is common enough, just ask the happy owners of mini about it, are they pleased with it?
I only have one issue, i appreciate that much its perfect form/specs/performance/price ratio and i am certain that when the time comes to replace it, the market will simply not offer any alternatives for it.
The phones are keep hrowing, that they become harder to stay mobile anymore and the small ones are regarded as cheap little phones for the casual user.
This phones shares the specs with all its brother line, with only one compromise.
The resolution. But it turns out to be an advantage, because its actual size not to matter and the less pixels on the same specs give it a performance boost.
PS: I ve noticed that most of the overheating reports come from Asia, mostly Philippines and early productions. I live in EU and i ve never heard of an overheated Mini here. Neither in the US continent.
So this problem, if it ever was real to begin with, surely does not affects every possible consumer and should not be taken as granted, as this forum tries to present it...
