Sbdevilmind, 04 Feb 2012Hi there.
You made a good choice to go for neo v. Lemme try to explain a few things to you.
... moreok i ll just want you give proper technical aspect of wifi
WIFI(WIreless-FIdelity) has a standard 802.11 with its versions that have come out over period of time with faster and larger connection area.
802.11a- 5Ghz, 6Mb/s
802.11b- 2.5Ghz, 11Mb/s
802.11g- 2.5/5Ghz, 54Mb/s
802.11n- 5Ghz, 72/130Mb/s
802.11g is currently being used the most bcoz 802.11n has recently been approved as standard
and there is nothing like 802.11n is not available for India... only thing u need is a wifi router with capability of 802.11n and a receiver(mobile) also with 802.11n and only then u get that speed.
also if router has 802.11n and mobile has 802.11g then router automatically switches to 802.11g (backward compatible)
and yes, there are routers, printers available with 802.11n capabilities in India :)
PS: u also need to have such internet connection(broadband obvious) to see for such speed... otherwise u can check while transfering large file over wifi for speed
cud u tell me how to increase the ram space.
my ram memory iz only 80-90mb although i dnt hv installd so mch apps.
tell me the solutn bro...
And also what is the best video format that can play on neo v? I want to convert videos to the highest quality possible. Please suggest some best video formats that look great on this Bravia engine screen. It can never happen with 3GP.
Hi Its been two months since I bought Neo V, all of a sudden 2 dead pixels are appearing on the left bottom of the screen. Do any of you face the same problem? As per SE's dead pixels policy 2 dead pixels are accepted, that mean I can get a replacement? Thanks
Really love this phone! Battery life is great if you're not online all the time. Screen resolution is awesome. Great value :)

Adam, 03 Feb 2012Hi!
Thank you for this opportunity.. I'm considering buying this handset & I would be ... moreHi there.
You made a good choice to go for neo v. Lemme try to explain a few things to you.
1. Browsing in default browser is superb. It's smooth, its very responsive, has pinch to zoom and everything else.... 3G browsing is even better. I recommend you to use tubemate to view or download youtube videos. Got options to select quality too.
Speed supported is HSDPA. That's 7.2Mbps....which corresponds to approx 900KB/s download speed. That is more than enough to stream even a 720p video. But again.....will our stingy service provider give that speed? Airtel in my place gives 300KB/s download speed. That's the max I ever saw in any handset as provided by Airtel.
2. WiFi in this handset is b/g/n. Gsmarena says that....hence no doubt about it. Sorry.....no experience yet. But this too will depend on your broadband speed. Which as far as I know is never above 1MB/s in India. WiFi b/g has a limit of 1.5MB/s download. B/g/n is way more.....So, just chill. WiFi N is still out of India's reach at current time.
3. Bluetooth reception will be good. Although haven't tried but 2.1 with ADR is enough even to stream a 320kbps mp3.
Hope these helps.....
100rabh, 03 Feb 2012this is normal what you are getting ... you should listen music on ur earphones or connects sp... morefirst i wanted to thank you because you mentioned my comment after that i wanted to ask some more questions.
first who long your phone lasts on stand by for example at nights that you don't have any usage when you wake up in the morning what's your battery level then?
second what app do you suggest for download in order to watch films with mkv format.
third are you absolutly sure that 9 or then hours music playing is normal for my phone because as it is mentioned in site music play duration should be 31h and i wrote the max duration i could listen to music by my phone while i was using handsfree and i had used other functions very low that day so it was odd for me that you said it's normal and i wanted to be sure.

Mordock, 03 Feb 2012@100rabh I have a doubt . I have a Vodafone 3g connection , But i do not get the option to... moreWCDMA means 3G, either it is umts (3G) or hspa (3.5G). While nokia shows 3.5G on status bar, SE phone will show H symbol which mean the same: both are currently working on HSPA network. To see the current network type on your phone go to Settings - About phone - Status - Mobile network type.

Too tempted by the phone.
I always loved sony mobiles, and there was time when people began to prefer sonyericsson over nokia but suddenly amid I dont know why, sonys sets became unaffordable and as a result, scarce. Actually there were shops in my knowledge where sony sets were sold on priority. But now it has become very hard to find sony sets in mobile stores. Many vendors dont sell sonyericsson sets now. In my locality nobody sells sony. I've to go to some nearby city for sony. Hope this set will change the trend and there again will come days where everybody will hold sony sets like it used to be before 4-5 years back.
God bless you, for all the help.
the biggest attraction in xperia neo v is it's display. it's 3.7 LED-backlit LCD with exceptional 480x854 resolution and 265 ppi. (u can't get this much resolution and ppi even in some higher and phones like Galaxy s2 n Lumia 800.)
music is extraordinary and camera is superb. secondary cam is also good it gives u pics like 2mp primary cams.
and remember it's android 2.3 is upgradable to ICS. gaming is also superb as well as apps n other features.
and u will get all these in just INR 17 or 18k. so if u r looking for phone under 20,000 then u can't afford to miss neo v.
os wal, 03 Feb 2012same prblm. . plz tell . solution. . and hey btw @100rabh frm were u buy this phone and ... morei bought the phone from a normal shop .. and i got everything incl hdmi cable .. the box was sealed .. and the price i paid was 18.5k but that was 3months ago on the day it was launched .. so it was ment to be overpriced tht time lol
Thank you for this opportunity.. I'm considering buying this handset & I would be ex grateful if u those who have it could pls let me know how is the browsing experience on the default browser, esp while surfing sites like youtube in 3g & buffering speeds? Can one view videos, say 360p on a 3g active connection, assuming the mobile Network has full bandwidth & supports speeds upto HSDPA+? I ask this because according to sony's website, this handset only supports HSPA speeds(i.e. EDGE (0.384 Mbps, UMTS (0.384 Mbps), GSM (0.014 Mbps), & UMTS (0.384 Mbps), unlike what's mentioned in the specs above(Attn Admn & Mods:You may want to review & confirm the same, in interest of all prospective buyers interested in this handset.)
Also, hows the real-life Wifi performance on current generation routers supporting 802.11b,n,g as it only supports only 802.11b (11mbps). And, last but not the least, how is the streaming & voice quality via a Bluetooth headset supporting 2.0, considering that this handset supports Bluetooth ver.1?
I thank all of you for your time & responses, in anticipation!
