Thank you for contacting the Sony Ericsson support center.
With reference to your mail, we appreciate your interest in Sony Ericsson products. We would like to inform you that as per the handset specification Xperia pro is having a video call facility."
I do sound like i am moaning but at least i applaud these manufacturers for still bringing out real button smartfones. Thanks for that..
I AM BUTTON FAN and hate pure touchscreen..At this moment i am considering s/e xperia pro,,BB 9900 or Nokia E6 ..Now by the time these smartfones arrive they will be outdated..
The xperia range is already a generation behind in proccessors and yet the Neo and xperia pro are nowhere to be seen..For crying out loud companys get these smarfones out before they are dead in the water.
I still think he s/e p900/p910 was the ultimate gadget fone,,it had 5 way jog dial,,flip away T9 keypad ,,stylus input or take the keypad off for pure touch..Bring it out again with todays spec and 2000mA battery lying length off fone like original p900/p910. They should call it the P900 TURBO and have turbo written sportily allover the back battery cover. :-)
Nobody is surprised – SE is late again… they really have a stupid strategy treating the customers like idiots.
wen is dis phone releasin????m waitin for dis!!!!!!!! please temme!!!!!
By delaying lyk this. Se should be adding features that people want on the phone .that it doesnt hv. If not then whats costing the delay
Plz SE dont release the phone this year, just assign a release date so we can decide what can we do!!!
deepak, 07 Jun 2011This phone doesn't support video calling (infact no xperia variant does) then why videocalling... moreThe official specifications page and overview (www.sonyericsson.com) never mentioned about videocall capability, only says: secondary camera for video chat - that requires to use a same app for both dialer and the other end's devices such as fring. Natively android os doesn't support 3G video-call option (via phone number)
till will be now realsed in june end globallya nd with 2.3.3 and facebook integration :D
Bad news guys! According to the OFFICIAL Sony Ericsson UK site, it is now available LATE July!
I'm not waiting any longer, Sony have lost me. Think I will go with the SGSII.
Xperia pro does support video calling (and has a front facing camera) but it does not come with a pre-loaded client for this.
So, if you find an app that supports video calling for Android phones it should work fine.
SE's UK online store now says "Available late July". Maybe still worth waiting for?
This phone doesn't support video calling (infact no xperia variant does) then why videocalling feature is listed above in specs?
Sony Ericsson told me the phone will be released late July.... they have delayed its release.
this is really bad decision, they have just concentrated on the mini's and they've forgot this amazing phone...
SE provided me a link for pre order in UK, and it says Late July too.
here is it: http://www.se-store.co.uk/go/handset/xperia-pro/sony-ericsson-xperia-pro
happy waiting everyone, or change the plan to buy another ? argh
Guyz dis is a cool video that review the xperia pro http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wgp3WGGVf40
Henry, 06 Jun 2011working hard on the pro mini, huh sony?
been waiting for this for months, then the product ... moreSe said that this will release in Q2 when it was announced (MWC). In my calender, it tells me that it is not Q3 anytime soon, therefore be patient and wait or just go for another phone!
People and their patience!!!
Like many of you, I have also been waiting for this keyboard equipped wonder from SE for months and also hoping for a word from SE about the official release date. Well, here is something that might interest you. Today I read an article in the Swedish mobile magazine Mobil.se about this, and it said that according to their "sources" Xperia pro may not be released until October (2011?). OK, a rumour only, but maybe it is time to realize, if it is still worth the wait.
wen you are going to launch this, we are waiting for this gadget to use...did sonydecide the rwelease date ofr this phone.
Sony Ericsson is seriously losing it's touch with it's customers. It's a shame really.
And even though this phone is not released yet, it is already outdated, old CPU and all.
I still want to buy it, but they are making people wait an awfully long time.
A clear date should have been set for the release of this phone.
I used to be a big SE fan, but they killed that for me.
The only customers they seem to be attracting now are loyal "fans" and people who don't know much about phones.
Well, anyway, I still think this phone looks great.
