There is no black, just white and nothingness. It actually looks amazing in sunlight, and is completely clear as can be. Indoors and in the medium light of a room, it can be near impossible to see without moving it to a brighter or darker backdrop. If I move it in front of a window, or the TV, though, it looks fantastic.
is this fon is black and white ?? thinkg, diz fon is juz an art,, no more, it has no value for quality,
On the flip-side to that, the segment that this is for expects high quality (but will tolerate quirks). For one, the keys should have been of higher quality (and perhaps being touch-sensitive would have improved the build and feel). The various light-leaks should have been tightened up. The phone bleeds light from the sides and between keys. I will also admit, though, the fast/pop-port is completely unacceptable. At the very least it should have had micro-usb and standard headphone jack. I think the idea is a complete winner, but the execution wasn't quite there. I don't care about the price, though I admit that it is hard to warrant it due to the build quality alone. With it sitting comfortably in the lower $500s now, it is coming down remarkably fast. It may turn out to be a complete flop for SE, but I still give them credit for trying something completely off the wall and different.
Every time I read someone say something like, "It costs too much for what it is," or, "I'd buy it if it were cheaper," I can't help but think you've missed the point. The phone isn't for you. This phone is for a very specific segment: a segment that likes to show off. It's the same segment that wears flashy clothes to get noticed, drives flashy cars. It is a phone to stand out from the crowd. I have news for you... Those types don't usually go for bells-and-whistles technology. They want something that works, and looks killer doing it. It's not for the majority, if it was it would be a complete failure. If you want a big screen, tons of memory, tons of apps... Cool. I don't blame you. It's what every other phone is for. This is for a different segment.
Anonymous, 15 Mar 2010Its not unbelievable price tag.The reason why this phone cost so much is because it has TRANSP... moreUNIQUE as in USELESS..yeah it got tranparent screen, but for what? spy glass? LOL
id rather go ahead n buy a nokia 3310 for this exact same price
more expensive than an x10,less features, half the speed.
why waste money, coz the x10 is king :)
This phone is a wonder and great creation of Sony Ericson. Its really a created art and very friendly user I have one and bought with Teletec warranty. That is only company is carrying full range of 5 major brands.
As far as that transparent glass display goes, we can tell from here that it's not likely to be visible in direct (or even some indirect) sunlight -- but since you're a jet-setting nightclub habitue' who hasn't been outside in the daylight in four years that probably shouldn't bother you much.

Bro this kind of phone people will bye as additional phone with a cost of 50/60 USD.
Blah blah blah..., 25 May 2010Yeah, It has a high class and art factor... But, 12,500-49,500 USD?! Are you kidding? WTF!... moreIt's around $850 USD. I have no idea where you are getting your prices from. Amazon has it listed for $869 at the moment with plenty in stock. Sure, $850 will buy you a lot of phone, but it's not like this is completely out there in price. It is a unique handset with a few eye catching design choices. The phone itself is definitely under-par, but that's not why people will buy it. I definitely find it intriguing. Not enough that I'd drop $850 on it (or even a few hundred as there is just too much out there I think that does the wow-factor a lot better, like the LG GD910), but I would love to see one in person one day. Too each their own... I wouldn't knock it if someone bought it...
