this is a nice phone I m having it for a month u can fully trust this phone
video calling is possible in this phone install Skype or other video calling app. front camera(1.3 mp)
then the battery life is superb only when u put ur phone for 8-12 hrs of charging for the first time.
don't install too much app in the phone memory it will drain the speed & performance of your phone, by default all applications will be installed in phone memory u can use "app2sd" application to move the installed apps from phone memory to sd card this application is free of cost and is available at google play
from my own experience this set is worth to buy

There are times when you simply do not want to carry around a huge device like the HTC Sensation or Samsung Galaxy S II and you instead would like a more compact device to suit your needs. This is where the Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray comes into play: it's a compact, thin, mid-range device with a focus on media capabilities and still enough power behind it to make everything run smoothly.
There are two models of the Xperia Ray that differ in the 3G bands for different regions. Everything else about the two models is the same, including the Qualcomm MSM8255 chipset (1 GHz single-core Snapdragon with Adreno 205), impressive 8 MP camera for a mid-range device and pixel-packed 3.3-inch 480 x 854 display.

if its screen is that small, then it is of no use for me..coz i live on txting only i have seen desire S..that is nice how about Sensation Z710E..??
live with walkman vs xperia ray. The advantage is ray's sharp screen (295 ppi) and sexy slim design. i'm madly addcited to it, but i'm using live with walkman. And the battery ofcourse, ray has a bettery capacity battery than live with walkan. Go for it dude. You will win
