Hello!!! I want to help people with their queries with the Xperia Ray phone!
I was using a Nokia 2730 before I got the Xperia Ray! At first I was definitely confused! From an s40 to an Android can be overwhelming for first time user! Especially with Android not being that new and the Ray being a new model, searching for help in threads can also be confusing and hard. But I'm actually an IT person so I was able to adapt immediately, but I can only imagine if my mother was the one in my position. So just ask anything and I'll try to help you :>
Keep X-RAYing! HAHA
why sony ericsson ray have a low coverage in maxis line in certain place? but,if use other model phone it's working well
I have this phone and everything is great.the only disadvantage to this phone is that it has no camer flash.only photo light

Anonymous, 13 Dec 2011yes it does..... there is a brightness sensor. all previous SE phones had it too....yes it has an ambient light sensor (I checked this in the service test and the value changes accordingly ) but it does not affect the screen brightness like arc, X8 and mini where you can easily notice the difference in brightness by covering the sensor by a finger. but in ray the brightness remains same either in sun light or in a dark room.
Sudharsun, 13 Dec 2011Hey guys...please dont compare android with iOS...Everything you buy from iStore is paid...Not... moreiphone is great to those who see it as an object to make calls, to take some snaps, browse the web, check email, and bla bla bla. It's simple and fast but for those who want things to be different each day and to have their lifes filled with joy and fun, they choose Android. It'll be more customizable, fun and delicious with the advent of ICS. For those who want a simple and boring stuff, they choose iphone and pay a whole lot of money for it! :P
Hey guys...please dont compare android with iOS...Everything you buy from iStore is paid...Nothing is free...Only good thing in iPhone is its technology...Thats it...Not user friendly as well...

Awesome phone but having trouble saving battery life.
In-fact it have 1gb Internal memory, but only 300mb available to user.
Anonymous, 13 Dec 2011yes it does..... there is a brightness sensor. all previous SE phones had it too....Ya it has its sensor (Ambient) but it dose not work automatically to control brightness of screen ,it has just two status high & low in its widget .
great phone, good size. looks always getting great comments on design and size/ thinness.
fast, great display- better than my friends htc incredible s and galaxy s... comparable to iPhone 4s. Sony bravia engine, like my LCD tv..... great tweak to pics, film and screen.
also faster screen transition and menu change compared to all three. only issue for some may be screen size but I wanted a compact phone so great for me... size is just enough for most functions. comes with stock MP3 player but great options downloadable- even free ones, so no issues
camera is amazing. Exxmor sensor really stands out. great aperture... same as iPhone.... the other two don't stand up.
additions like se timescape give it grreat functionality and cool looks. can check email AMD sms right on smokescreen with a cool rolling animation.
got a screen guard and silicone case so I dunno about scratches. need on any phone these days, they are cheap and good investment to protect phone.
batterylife beats all three.... charge once a day with calls, Bluetooth and moderate surfing, gaming, movies.

Jorge, 12 Dec 2011This phone is very nice But unfortunately the main problem is it hasn't auto brightness feature.yes it does..... there is a brightness sensor. all previous SE phones had it too....

asd, 12 Dec 2011which is better? samsung galaxy w or this xperia ray?? need help=( Xperia. no doubt. what the Korean companies lack is knowledge of software integration into whatever hardware they have(even if higher specs). SE brings its own flavor to android, tweaked to its phones- not stock android. looks cooler, works faster. have compared to Htc incredible, Samsung galaxy myself.
The actual internal storage capacity is 420MB. However, only 300MB is user available as the remaining is used by Android OS.
This is one of the sad thing about this phone. You cannot install too many apps on it. Although some apps are movable to SD card, some portion of the app is still in the internal storage, hence limiting the number of apps that you can install.
