The Arc has the same camera as the xperia neo,pro and the ray, so yes I believe the Ray has a better camera than the iphone4.

gump, 20 Sep 2011Guys please help me out to make a choice between Xperia Ray and Samsung Galaxy S ... is it rea... morecell phones are made as phones first of all, it means maybe more than 12 hours in your pocket! i never recommended bulky phones! especially bulky with small resolution, like if you have PC 22" monitor in VGA resolution! it's for low vision people. what you need in 4" screen when you have 3.3" screen of almost the same resolution?
Guys please help me out to make a choice between Xperia Ray and Samsung Galaxy S ... is it really difficult to type on the 3.3" screen, many reviews/previews say its the aspect ratio that makes it difficult to type even in Landscape QWERTY mode + the keypad is not accurate!!! Also I heard that there's no smart dialing ??
So is it worth..or should I go with the tried and tested one: Galaxy S ??

The phones w... moreI wasn't aware of all those technical details, but I agree when you say the Ray's camera isn't as good the phones you mentioned. To be honest, I think my old SE C902's 5MP is better than the Ray's 8MP. And the camera's options on the Ray are disappointing, though this can be circumvented by apps.

They will all suffer image quality issues. The phones with the best sensors are Nokia N8 and iphone 4 both with sensor pixel cells of 1.75 microns, compared to Xperias 1.4 microns. To many megapixels decreases cell size if squashed onto a small sensor and thus reduces photons hitting each cell. The iphone4 and Xperia both have back-illuminated sensors (sony call this ExmorR) Id rather use a 5MP 1.75 than an 8MP 1.4. Thats the science anyway. First hand the iphone 4 is better than the Ray (which has same sensor as Arc) in general everyday and night shots so backs up the theory a bit too. I do have the Xperia Ray and really like it, but didnt buy it for its camera. Compared to dedicated cameras all phones are quite bad in quality if being picky. Not sure on Samsung cameras.
