to all x1 users:
Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 firmware update goes live with better signal reception
No Comments

By Will Park on Monday, June 1st, 2009 at 11:35 AM PST
In Announcements, Applications, Hottest Hardware, Sony Ericsson, Windows Mobile

If your pricey Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE) XPERIA X1 has left you wanting a little more in the way of cell-signal reception, you’ll be happy to hear that the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 firmware update that we’d been expecting is now live and ready to boost the signal strength on your high-end WinMo smartphone. The XPERIA X1 R3A firmware update also increases the keyboard backlight intensity, speeds up the media panel (as part of the Panel UI), and improves touchscreen responsiveness (resistive touchscreen, in this case).

X1 owners will want to hit up Sony Ericsson’s device update website here. You’ll be whisked away to the land of updated Windows Mobile firmwares, where you’ll be allowed to update your XPERIA X1 with ease.

As with all updates, back up your data first!

joe, 31 May 2009hi all... i'm seriously considering buying this phone (i'm fom europe, so i will not have to ... moreHi Buddy,

I have bought this phone. It did cost me a fortune (35 K INR) but I am very very very happy with it. The battery life is good (I am a heavy user - lots of calls, listening to songs and web-browsing - but still need to recharge only every second day), the display is fantastic. Some people have been complaining about the weight, but personally I believe the weight has a good feeling to it and gives the handset that extra sturdiness.

The only drawback - so far - is that the external speaker is not loud enough. All in all, I shall rate the Xperia a 9.5/10! A must have for SE fans and WM lovers.

PS: I have not tested the 3G features as 3G is yet to come to India!

Anonymous, 31 May 2009is this handphone hard to use? and how many color of this phone? two right? black and silver?Basically, wm6.1 is considered as hard to use by many people. However, you just need to get used to it and then you will definitely start liking it, considering, what not you can do with windows mobile.
Also you can put wm6.5(from xda), which is more user friendly, and a lot better.
Maybe when wm6.5 is officially released, SE might give an update to us users. Which would be great.

hi all...
i'm seriously considering buying this phone (i'm fom europe, so i will not have to pay a whole fortune for it)
My only concerns with this phone are with the sturdynes of the display and the battery...
So my questions goes to all actual owners of this phone:

1) how long does the battery last if you use it for a long time, running demanding applications?

2) does the display scratch easily; have you had any trouble with the display/touchscreen?

Thx for any help
