I can not fully agree that X1 is the worst SE phone ever. But certainly if we consider the price and the anticipation, it may feel like that for many people.
No wonder that X1 was selected:

Introduced in February with (almost) operational prototypes, the phone has only just become available in stores. And since there’s only one Windows Mobile model from Sony Ericsson, developments for the proprietary interface, quite naturally, are scarce. last few weeks, i'm in dilemma choose between
X1 or HTC TP.
but finally i choose X1, due the price matters. At Malaysia
RM2180 for X1
and
RM2650 for HTC TP.
and the best things X1 has 3.5mm head jack. So i can plug in my Sony noise canceling headphone.
now i'm very happy using it and also my 1st time using WinMo.

Disadvantages:
1: poor reception
2: lousy camera
3: unreliable OS - WinMo
4: outrages quality control - cracked cases
5: bad battery performance
6: slow performance
7: xxK color :)))
8: limited memory (internal)
Advantages:
1: SE has an excuse - made by HTC
2: SE promised never let HTC make another SE model
3: not made by Sagem (like other SE models)
4: new model is announced already (Idou)
5: most people not surpriced
6: offered free with return/echange policy
7: slow sales (not many people got burned with this model)
8: it used to be very expensive
No wonder SE loses money each quarter.

xperia now can be upgraded to windows mobile 6.5 ... :)
HTC : too bulky
Iphone : only good in browsing & "eye candy" interface..
Bold : hmmm quite good..but still prefer X1.. :)
